I know allot of folks do not like this sort of thing but I am going to give it a go.

I have recently purchased a Cigar Barrel infusion kit. I have been wanting to try my hand at making some infused cigars with my personal taste for drinks. I am looking for opinions on what I should try first. Fist I would like suggestions on which cigar to use. I know that it all has to start with a good cigar. If I start with a crappy smoke its going to be crappy in the end. Second I would like opinions on what flavor to use first. Pick well because you never know. I might send you some of what turns out if they worth a crap lol. Herfing

PS: I can also use any liquor if you have any suggestions on what to try with that.

List O Flavor Choices.

WHISKY
Canadian Rye = Crown Royal

Tennessee = Jack Daniels

Kentucky = Jim Beam

Irish = Jameson

Southern = Southern Comfort

Highland Malt Scotch = Glenlivet

Blended Scotch = Johnnie Walker (Red)

Cherry Bourbon

Spiced Bourbon = Wild Turkey Spiced

Brandy
XO = Hennessey

XO Apple

Cherry

Plum

Apricot

RUM
Spiced = Captain Morgan Spiced

Jamaican = Captain Morgan Jamaican

Amber Cuban = Captain Morgan Cuban

Caribbean = Bacardi Gold

Cocorum = Malibu (this is sold at an 40 proof but bootlegged at an 80 proof)

Creole Orange

Captain Morgans Spiced, ohh, ohh and Jameson...

I think the rum will help the cigar take on a Navy pipe tobacco escense.

And Jameson, gotta be better than an Erin go Braugggghh!!

Try both in a Connie, and A Maddie.

I always thought AF Curly heads would infuse nicely. And not to expensive. But a Curly is good by itself.... on second thought, might not want to fudge up Curly head.

No that I think about it. If it's a good cigar, why mess with it.

How about 5 vegas

There may be one or two BOTL on here who's taste in cigars, I've admired, who actually enjoy infused cigars from time to time...but I can't think of one. In fact, after Gurkha, there are few things on here cigar-related that will get ridiculed faster than infused cigars. Additionally, I compensate Mr. Johnson, Mr. Fuente, Mr. Booth, et al very well for their knowledge, experience, and taste, etc..I trust that there is no chance in hell that I might improve on their products. What's the point?

Well said...I should have read your post before I ranted....I think a corollary to your remark should be: If it isn't a good cigar, why the **** would you buy it?

Thanks for the valid inputs on my questions guys you know who you are. I do greatly appreciate it. As far as getting ridiculed about infusing good cigars with good liquor I really don't care. It gives me something to do that I am able and keeps me occupied. Besides IF I should happen to get lucky and get something good out of it then more for me and those that can answer a direct question with a direct logical answer if they are interested. ThumpUp

Now to answer the question of "if it is already a good cigar why". Again because it gives the stroke guy something to tinker with. d'oh! Its not to try and improve it but to make it different. I can not drink like most can due to the crap load of meds I must take to stay alive. This way I might be able to get a good taste of whisky, scotch or something of the sort. fog Out of all the things I have had to give up, Sweet Tea,Sugar, Salt Lots O Beef and Pork. The alcohol taste I miss the most

Courvoisier should certainly be among your brandy considerations ... also, Basil Heyden Kentucky Bourbon, Glenmorangie Scotch and both Redbreast and Bushmills clearly deserve your Irish whiskey considerations ...

I'd probably try a bundle of rosa cubas or a curly head as mentioned earlier. I had a bunch of JR cigars when I first started that were absolute crap but after I infused them they were "OK." I think I just infused with some Ezra Brooks or Evan Williams. I'm a fan of both especially BinB.

many years ago I took a handful of some bundle smokes I wasn't enjoying, ground some coffee, put everything in a large baggie and put the baggie in a small tupperware container with a 62 boveda.

Left it undisturbed for about a month, ended up with some cigars I did not like that now had a coffee nuance to them. It worked, I guess.

good luck.

Lmaooooooooooooooooo Poor guy. Yeah hence why I stated that I would like to start with some decent smokes nothing fancy but nothing so dang good that if I should muck it up I wont be that heart broke. Also I am not trying to improve a smoke just change it up a little bit to where I can get that alcohol nuance as you so well put it. I cant drink a single drop hell one Advil can put me in the ground due to med reactions and yes I found that out the hard way. So when my Dr now says you cant drink or it could kill you I dont ask questions I say OK then go home and pout because of something else I have lost. As it stands right now my cigars are about all I have left lol so it is something I can play with and try to find more things that I do like or might like lol just dont know till I try right? I do appreciate the good luck because I am sure I will need it.

I hear you. I tried the javas once they was ok for me. I am a coffee drinker or was rather but I only like my coffee strong and bitter lol. The Java struck me as a mild coffee taste and I guess at the time I was expecting or wanting espresso lol. I tried the Mint Java once as well and nope. I found out I would not like eating a peppermint patty while drinking coffee lol. I have seen the cigars like the makers mark, and other liquors but thats just not my brand. I am more of a Tennessee whisky kind of guy. So here is to hoping Beer

I tried this about 5-8 yrs ago and it wasnt bad. I tried tequila,spiced rum and bourbon. I did all in a separate box for a few months replenishing the boxes every month or so. Bourbon turned out the best but i think its because at the time i liked that more. My opinion is use what u like with cigars and booze and just give it time to work

I can honestly say, I have never had the want, need, or desire to fart and light fire to my ass. Now I have shot a keg of gun powder at close to point blank. When it went off, you could not get a greased BB in my ass and I could not hear for a week. Anxious

Buy the cheapass bundle cigars. If you're gonna waste money, at least try to minimize the amount.

Place a lil container with booze in it inside a cedar box with smokes. Try to only open box once a month or so to replenish the booze container. I would let this go on for wt least a year or so

Bwahahahaha, every time I have ever lit up an acid I made sure I was not near any one. Acids was what got me started in the cigar world. I have had "naturals on and off" But it was not till here very recently I have switched over to natural cigars. Come to find out I wish I had done it years ago. I still have a few acids and they do have their place in my office, I might have to fire it up in my local shop just to see what reactions I get. I might want to be near a door when I do though. This fat boy cant run for sh1t and I will need a head start.Anxious

I have 3 of them. I have smoked pipes many years before I even tried cigars. I very rarely pull them out now. Heck honestly its been so long since I have pulled out my pipes I am not sure where they are packed up at lol. I would say its been over 12 to 13 years since I have smoked a pipe now.

Hehe...me too (6 years)!!! Something happened to the ol' Donkey King...like an invasion of the body snatchers thing...

Hey Ewok: if you bought the cigars and paid for the booze, you have the right to do whatever you want with them, short of shoving them up someone's .... but even that may result in a smokeable product...

LOL very true delta, Heck with all the reviews I have seen where folks talk about do do smelling cigars lmaooo some might like that sort of thing.

And in todays review we will be reviewing Ewoks Dookie nubs. It has some wraper that has poop all over it with a Dominican filler. I think the binder is used toilet paper and here is the catch. Each cigar has been shoved way up in to the ass of a homeless orphan to give it that great DoDo smell. So lets cut and toast it and see how it taste.

Bwahahaha Man I crack my self up.

Try a core line padron maduro and a decent bourbon. My local did that with a bourbon barrel and they were actually pretty dam tasty. The padron without a doubt is a great smoke and it wont break the bank experimenting with.

Sweet Smokestaxx, I greatly appreciate the info. The barrel I have coming is a chard oak barrel So I am hoping it works just as well. Its good to hear that you have seen it done and it turned out well. Now I am not quite as worried lol. Beer
