Today I had my psych eval for the SS department to see if they think I am eligible for disability. It has taken this long since November of last year to get to this point. All the red tape, and hoopla, Having Dr's fax so many reports that the Dr's office started charging me for each fax that the SS department requires. Ten months now since I have been behind the wheel of a car because the Dr says I cant drive no more. Last but absolutely not least no job since the day of my stroke. Every day pain, Every day worry about how to make ends meet if this does not go through, every day worry about what is going to happen to my family if I should kick the proverbial bucket.

It has been almost a year long struggle every day dealing with what they want, need and demand. Mostly because my brain just does not function like it should not that they have asked for anything asinine but they are SLOWER than molasses. It is just that things don't come easy for me like they use to since the damage. Anxiety at an all time high when confusion sets in while trying to figure out these forms ect. Any how, enough of this whining BS.

I feel like today was a great marker in all this. It was a big step in trying to get something accomplished to where something is coming in to contribute back to my family on what I have busted my ass for all these years. I had been working since the age of 13, never have I not had a job since that age. That in itself has been a very hard thing for me to swallow. I have been paying SS since I was legal age to draw a paycheck until the day my brain took a crap in my skull.

With all that said I am wanting to have a little private celebration. I have never in my life had a real CC and that is something that is on my bucket list. I have two in my humidor that was given to me by NWStogie (Bless Him) and I think tonight is the night to mark one thing off my list. So which should it be?

Fonseca Delicias

OR

Romeo y Jelieta Coronitas en

First one to reply will be the one to take my CC virginity. NWStogie Thanks again man I greatly appreciate it.

LOL see now you got me wanting to ash the Ry. I don't want to go through all I have in one sitting, If I did that then I would be sitting around wanting, needing even. I have no idea where to get any more from. I have been looking but I have no idea who is safe to purchase from without getting ripped off lol.

and if you like these affordable cigars, many here can tell you how to safely procure more of them, or other affordable Cubans.

Don't get caught up in the mystery and myths. They are cigars rolled with tobacco from that country. I happen to prefer them, but I know lots of b/sotl who prefer Nic, Honduran, Dominican, etc.

I do like affordable cigars for sure, waiting on one to be kind enough to inform me on how to procure more. I fully understand about getting caught up in the mystery and myths. I love all the Nic, Honduran and Dominicans that have been suggested to me from folks here as well. I find myself mostly going for any full flavors but I do love mild as well depending on the time day, how I feel ect. It seems for me its just like food or music I do love variety.

Thank you for letting us see a portal into your life Ewok.

I feel for you. Strokes suck. One day My Grandpaw was plowing a mule. The next day doctors told him he may never walk again.

No matter how you look at it.

I think we should make sure you don't need to buy another cigar for awhile.

I think I need an Addy.

Prayers to you and yours Ewok.

SS office knows the percentage of people who give up the pursuit of their money. So they Donk you around as much as they can. Get it will there is still money in there for ya. I'm 36 and know I will never see a red cent of my SS back.

Take care buddy.

He'd plow this big ol' gelded mule, Gus.
Up till 2006 when he had his stroke.
He had a tractor. But left it for haying.

He'd rather run a mule and walking plow, than sit on a noisy smelly tractor.
Which was funny because he liked filling up Gus's belly with sweet feed and Alfa grass,
So he would fertilize the gardens real good. Lol!! Smelly old mule...

Its no problem HillbillyJ. I am sure not many want to hear or see that portal lol. Yes I will have to agree strokes suck major out of all the things in my life I think this has been the roughest one yet. When my heart started going out due to birth defect and a valve was needed I was not near as scared as I was after my stroke. I would have rather lost a limb or 3 vs losing my ability to think properly. Which my mind is what I made my career on but that is life. As they say bad things happen to good people every day. It was just my turn. As far as the make sure I dont have buy another smoke for a while I greatly appreciate the offer and the sentiment more than you know but that is not necessary. Our service men could use that more than me brother. Besides after letting folks get a glimpse of that "Portal" I just would not feel right getting such. I know there are allot of people worse off than I am and also going through allot worse situations. Being here just gives me a chance to write it out and get it off my chest is all lol. I have to agree about the SS, I know in the few short months the wife and I have been dealing with that place. You have no idea the evil thoughts that have went through my head. Some so bad it even made me feel bad for thinking such later on lol. I appreciate the prayers as well brother we all never have enough of those.

bwahahaha well then I should fit right in, I have not necessarily wanted to eat my young but the thought of killing them has crossed my mind. The only thing that has prevented me from doing that is the possibility that I might find someone that is willing to trade them for a pet monkey. Does that count? ram27bat

Good luck on your dealings with SS and hope it works out to your advantage. Never had the pleasure with SS but did go toe to toe with the VA for 3 plus years and finally won. Then after that did around robin with IRS over adjusted tax returns for years 4 & 5 past and finally prevailed there also.

If you are on firm ground you will win out but the Feds will make you work for it. They are counting on you just throwing in the towel and giving up.

Good luck!

He's not going to want anything in return. That's how he rolls. His return addy will be on the package should you chose to try to pay back but most likely he'll just say to send your thank you to the troops.

Man you have no idea that is exactly how I have felt in dealing with all this. What really chaps my ass is due to my situation all its going to take is one time of me being a little confused and dropping the ball. My wife of course trys her damdest but she has no idea how to deal with such. It got me to thinking how many people get screwd because health issues that deal with the mind and they have no help in making sure the ball does not get dropped.

Also, I got to say man, in all my years dealing in medical, I have seen more people get shafted by the VA, To many of our boys end up in worse situations than what was in the start. I have seen more spine surgeries having to be re-done and folks ending up in worse shape because of the VA. I know one surgeon out in Biloxi MS that will take on any Vet just to keep them from going to the VA and getting screwed up and over at no charge. He was a real hard ass to work with but one of the best guys I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and working with.

It is a crying damn shame that a vet has to fight the VA. Breaks my heart to say the least.
