Any Long-Term Efect on Pe-Cutting Cigar?

Okay! A novice question ...

There have been times when I prefer to cut or punch a couple of cigars at one time. I do this so that they will be readily available to smoke at times when cutting them later may not be convenient. Such as, when driving.

If I do so, and then do not smoke the cigar, is it okay to put them back in the humidor for extended periods of time? I'm just wondering if cutting off the end will affect preserving the quality of the cigar?

Thanks!

I think your biggest problem will be the wrapper unraveling. if you cut them return them to their cellos and you should be fine. I get pre-cut cigars all the time from B&M events that go into my humis and I haven't noticed any problems with taste

I personally have never done this nor would I ever. If I can not take the proper time to cut a cigar before smoking then in my honest opinion it is not the proper time to be smoking a cigar. For me this is part of the "Ritual" No journey is worth a shit if you can not enjoy the aspect of getting there. This all of course is just my opinion. Herfing

I'm not sure I follow the logic either. . . It really doesn't take any time to cut a cigar. The manufacturers send them out uncut for a reason. . .

As for the part about not wanting to cut a cigar while driving, I suppose that makes sense. However, do you light it while driving(I think that's actually more distracting). Do you get into the car with the cigar already out of the cello and in your mouth/hand, cause if not hunting for a cigar while driving is certainly distracting.

They will probably smoke ok, but you will always question if they are smoking their best. Its why you asked the question in the first place. And if you're worried about if its smoking its best or not, your not fully enjoying the cigar Just not worth it.

Kind of along the lines, if you have to ask. . .

nope, none at all. I do it all the time when I get a Box of 20. Pre-cut 5 or 6 so air goes in both end and they dry a little faster. I wouldn't do it for smokes I am going to let age while though. No reason for it.

Well, I'm glad I was pre-cut that way I didn't have to make the hard decision later in life. I imagine being cut later in life, especially in high school... or worse, college!! would not be a very fun experience.

So yes, pre-cut.

Really.......

In my teens, I'd drive with one knee while rolling a doobie. I text & drive. Too distracting to cut a cigar while driving? I bet you own one of those shoe box looking hybrid fuel smart vehicles. Prolly drive with hands at 2 & 10 at 1 mph under the posted speed.

Example of the FAQ theme on CB
This thread in just 4 days ran it's course
Started with an honest question from a trusting newbie
Quickly devolved into two, no, three unrelated prurient interest diversions

And the honest question was never answered.
Maybe that's the de facto FAQ here: deFAQto shall we say?

Davidoff used to have some tubed cigars that were pre-cut. V-cut as I recall. I see no reason that this would be a problem. Unless you don't know how to cut a cigar. YMMV fog
