Honest question...Is a white racist a white supremacist?

I've often seen the terms used interchangeably, and have done the same...

A white Racist is a white person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another. Key word being OR meaning not necessarily both.

White supremacism is a racist ideology based upon the belief that white people are superior in many ways to people of other races and that therefore white people should be dominant over other races.

A white supremacist is an advocate of the supremacy of a particular group, especially one determined by race or sex.

So I would say a white person can be a racist but not necessarily support the Ideology of Supremacist, But a supremacist is Racist.

Granted this might show my ignorance but in dissecting the definitions of each this is my conclusion of the actual meaning of the terms. Beer

Look... I know most of you will immediately disagree with me, simply because I post something.

But the more this story develops, the more disturbing I find it.

Some random US citizen tweets on their private twitter that trump is a white supremacist. ....

I don't see much of a problem with that. But suddenly the White House Press Secretary, DURING AN OFFICIAL PRESS EVENT states she believes Hill should be fired.
Then, following it up, the President of the United States tweets attacks against her employer? Stating their programming is bad and they need to apologize for some "untruth"? (for the record, ESPN did not state he's a white supremacist, and to follow up, to claim that's an untruth is something that is still in debate).

So seriously.

If I call Trump a white supremacist on Facebook or Twitter? Do you guys think it's appropriate for the President AND the Press Secretary to use official channels to pressure my employer to fire me?

When you guys called Obama a racist on Cbid forums (a completely public social media forum) would you have thought it was appropriate for Obama to attack your employer on twitter and call for your firing?

This is some seriously messed up sh#t guys. We're talking about the white house directly using its power to try to suppress private citizens from expressing their opinion of the white house.

Suppose you have a white guy saying kill whitey, Charles Manson comes to mind, could he in fact be a racist yet a black supremacist?

Not only has Trump displayed his own racist tendencies throughout his life, he has also exposed his misogynistic attitudes. The latest is his re-tweet of a gif showing him hitting a golf ball at Hillary and knocking her down.

The right will excuse that also...

victor's broader point is that Trump has coarsened our expectations of how a President uses the power of his office when communicating with the public, and giving him a pass is a dangerous precedent...

as revenge, the Dems will elect someone like Roseanne Barr as President...that'll spin the heads on the right...

Al I don't think anyone here excuses anything Trump has done. I'm a big fan of his agenda, but have said ad nauseaum that he needs to lay of the twitter and rise up to the level of the office.

At the same time, I'm not one to listen to his speeches backwards to find tidbits of satanism with which to become outraged over.

I don't see why not...

Bruce Jenner won woman of the year.

Michael Jackson died a white man.

That one white chick ran a branch of the NAACP.

I very rarely have my moments, It does happen on occasion. I tend to mark it up to luck more than proper thinking. As a friend of mine use to say. "Give a monkey a typewriter eventually it will type a word lmaoooo. Herfing
