Fall is my favorite time to be in the woods.

With me still looking for suitable employment (holding out for management) I've had a bit too much time to enjoy and combine some of my favorite hobbies.

Hiking, cigars and "deer hunting" and Jack Daniels afterward.....

Spotted this guy along with a fork this past week while hiking a bike trail. less than three miles from my home.

I've also met his girls, 5 maybe 6 does on other days. This day he actually turned and followed me for a 1/4 mile, surprised me as I stopped for a drink. He was as close as 30 feet! I waved my arms and in a loud voice to him to knock it off!

I guess the trail turned away from his does because he stopped, I admittedly got a bit concerned when I discovered him so close behind me! Cripes my hearing must be going fog

I've found other smokables in the forest, never the AVO varietal though. Think

They'll probably be culling the herds soon, ya know, because we're to dense in IL to support wildlife.

Far west Chicago suburb forest preserve! I've hiked the woods and prairies near my home for 15 years and never saw one with a rack this size, well I'm sure I've seen this guy before when he was a fork!

Deer here relatively unafraid, I hand fed a pair of year old fawns years ago that I had been watching grow up, I would see them every weekend, kept talking to them and one day with mom watching-with tact approval-got close enough and fed them nuts!

I named them Link and Patty!

Nice sighting Chris

I had a very healthy basket 6 point run through the yard today. My wife said she saw a big rack rack buck w/ a smaller one on her way in to work, about a mile from our place.

You could try climbing a tree and jumping on him when he walks byAnxious
