I watch a lot of YOUTUBE because regular
T.V. blows and I learn a lot from the documentaries and "the how to do stuff"
Videos..and laugh at most of the Conspiracy crap..especially the really WEAK ONES...

BUT LATELY...

The "skip ad" choice is pissing me off...
For years it only took ONE CLICK to skip any ad...and I mean EVERY AD...

NOW...CERTAIN ADS TAKE THREE FREAKIN CLICKS, separated by a few seconds each...

WTF?

My guess is the advertisers are PAYING YOUTUBE BIG BUCKS FOR the 3 click "skip ad"
feature...

Anybody else notice this or hear of this new "skip ad" policy?

The ad with "the fashion model" in NYC...
TALKING ON HER WRIST WATCH PHONE/COMPUTER
THING ..IS A THREE CLICK SKIP AD...

Get Ad Block Plus for your browser and let YouTube, AKA Google, F'O.

Occasionally they can start an advert, but refreshing the windows gets rid of that too.

Yup, that built in browser appears to be locked down. I did see one clever way to block them in the following link but it involves blocking various advertisement websites in your router.

I find it ironic that so many people say they love American capitalism and want it to run free without regulation, but then do all they can to block the capitalists' sales pitches...

No irony, the market demands what it demands. If ads weren't profitable companies wouldn't host them.

Who's asking for a regulation? We do not have free market capitalism anyway.

Most of the YT channels I enjoy have been demonetized, so they get nothing for their work and YT still runs adds on their videos. They can appeal the decision, but it takes about two weeks. Coincidentally (NOT), the first two weeks after a video is posted is when it generates the most income for the creator. I've already seen99.9% of the adds anyway so, screw YT.

I'm not signed up for AdSense but I should. I don't try and get subscribers. I have 5 or 6 hundred. I need to step it up and get serious.

I have adblock myself but I do not run it while watching the youtubers I want to support. I also have adsense which for me can be a pain in the arse. Where I run across my issues with YT is when my own work gets blocked for copyright infringement on my channel. The record label I use goes through another company to watch for my music being used without my permission. When I put my music up on YT the company files an infringement on my behalf. Basicly I go after myself for my own work. It takes weeks to get the infringement taken off when trying to deal with YT. I have found that YT does not even have people to look at these videos on a case by case basis. Even when I supply the ID number along with basically a serial number for each song which only the creator would have from the record label. YouTube's business model is pretty much a huge mickey mouse BS of a joke in itself. The funds that could be made are not due to their policy of what can and cannot be monetized. Second because of so many wanting the vids to be "ad free" and use ad blockers then as a creator it's basically worthless. The majority of money that I make from my music which is just a few cents a month really is made from ITunes, Google Play, Bandcamp, and Spotify. From YT I don't make shit and never will.

BTW, I do support, i.e., pay money, to the channels I enjoy. I give directly to the channels with Patreon.

For music I like I find their CD and buy a copy, preferably from the talent's own website.

Elsagate looks about as viable as the claims that Lincoln was gay.

I KNEW Lincoln was gay. He was a Republican after all. They are all gay, some are just still fighting it.

General Sherman however, he simply embraced his gayness. I hear he was flaming.

Sherman absolutely was. Him and Robert Lee had a fling, but when Lee left him for Jefferson Davis, Sherman burned Savannah to the ground in retaliation.
