Here in Pa...they just allowed BEER DISTRIBUTORS TO SELL 12 PACKS AND
6 PACKS...

IT IS NOW A "PRICING *****ING NIGHTMARE"!!!

What used to be a straight forward system...as in most beer distributors put the prices above the cases with a big FREAKIN sign... Then they'd list the specials on a board or ads in the paper...
(Some douche bags would price half the store or keep a master list at the counter...)

Well...forget that now...it is a pricing wasteland now...no prices above the beer cases, 12 pack prices on cases, with 2
12 packs, cases with 4 six packs with individual 6 pack pricing...

WHAT THE ****!!!???

IT IS TOTAL ANARCHY...

and now grocery stores are selling beer at 25%-50% MORE THAN beer distributors case prices...

**** DAT' SHIIT...THE GROCERY STORES CAN SHOVE THAT BEER UP THEIR AZZES AND CHOKE ON IT...

I yearn for the old days...
CHEAP CASES OF BEER WITH PRICE SIGNS ON THE PALLET OR SHELF...

PROGRESS??? NOT EVEN..IT IS BULLSHIIT.

That's the only part I understood. 6 packs, 12 packs, signs and grocery stores... I felt like a pinball and I still have no idea why beer prices are going up, or how much.

But hey... I live in CA for now, so I don't really care.

Jonsey, you need to consider potential SSG involvement.

I'm guessing Mr Jones is upset about the change in the sale of 6 & 12-packs in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
‘Free the six-pack’ law goes live in Pa.
http://www.dailylocal.com/article/DL/20170115/NEWS/170119847

You used to be able to buy two 6-packs per-person to-go from the local bar (and pretty cheap too) without having to go to the beer distributor to buy a whole case. It was a popular buying practice, especially at last call. A lot has been changing due to new micro-breweries opening in the cities (including the sale of Growlers & Crowlers), and many of the national craft brewers selling 4-packs. Now the Commonwealth wants to allow the distributors to sell 6-packs instead of strictly wholesale with cases & kegs.. Unfortunately this will probably have a negative impact on the small local bars that sell 6-packs.

Beer & wine now sold in PA at your grocery store will naturally be more expensive because of the convenience. Da!
The point to remember ( if the distribution is the same as out here in CO ) is beer sold at the grocery store may be a lower ABV than if you buy from the distributor.

My Advice Mr Jones: Do not sign-up for the "frequent buyer" programs at the distributors offering a discount after a certain amount spent. This initiative permits the guberment to track your alcohol purchases under the guise of giving you a discount.

Gone are the days of buying a 24-case of 16oz returnable bottles for $10. Gone are the days of even being able to buy beer in returnable bottles LOL!

^^^11 cacman ^^
Thank you for the easier
"Romperoom" version that Macs can understand ^^^

Pretty simple...

CARDBOARD costs money...
Extra cardboard and handling is needed to break cases down to be able to sell 6 and 12 packs...
THEN...OUTTA' STATE C.R.Y.B.A.B.Y. MILLENNIALS
moved here and bitched up a storm about beer distributors only selling cases... "waaa Waaa waaa : I'm a millennial
and I don't want an entire case" << **** off you ***** moho's and STFU...

PA HAS HAD ONLY STATE LIQUOR STORES AND ONLY FULL CASE BEER DISTRIBUTORS FOR FREAKIN' EVER...and that system worked fine and dandy...by me...

If you wanted a 12 pack or six pack you went to a bottle shop or bar...pretty *****ING simple but very FORIEGN to
"Out of state puzzies"
These diiicks then complained way too much to state legislators and now....
When you go to a beer distributor to buy a case...
A. They are all "broken up" into 6 packs or 12 packs
With no prices anywhere in sight..
B. No more massive pallets with good pricing signage
Above every case of beer..
C. Prices have gone WAY UP... Because azzholes had to change something that wasn't broken in the first place...
D. Millionaire companies led the charge like SHEETZ CONVIENENCE STOES , GROCERY STORES ( GIANT & WEIS)
TO JACK UP PRICES and **** the consumer...

Every freakin' day MILLENNIALS AND THEIR BITCING CHANGE THINGS FOR THE WORSE...
THEY ARE A PAIN IN MY AZZ...

So who was it? The millennials or the Millionaire companies?

Have a drink and settle down: All is well, all are welcome. All welcome. Go into the Light. Sarcasm

Well, if you'd speak English, and type in complete sentences with proper punctuation, nobody else would have to explain it.

THIS^^^^

Jones, I have the indistinct pleasure of living in the ONLY state left in the country that disallows alcohol sales of ANY kind on Sunday ( not for long though ) ....and ONLY licensed distributors ( liquor stores ) can sell beer cold!!!
