honestly... they were the big winners here.
If the dems had lost, who cares... it's a seat they never really had and probably can't hold without spending way more than it's worth (in both money and political bargains). .. now they will probably spend that over the next two years to try to hold it.
But the reputation hit to the republicans would have been big. It could have had a real lasting impact and decreased republican voter turnout across the nation in elections for years...
ah well. the GOP really dodged a bullet on this.
Ironically, anyone look at the breakdown of votes? 65% of white women in alabama voted for the child rapist*.... I wonder if he reminded them of their first boyfriend/uncle....
