But the thing I find odd is his very very immediate resignation. Makes me wonder if there is something more he doesn't want them to find out in the investigation... but with him resigning, it seems unlikely we'll get anything more on that.

Does an Ethics Panel investigation (or whatever would ensue) immediately end?
