(CNN) President Donald Trump slammed reports questioning his mental stability in a series of tweets Saturday morning, writing he's a "very stable genius."

"Now that Russian collusion, after one year of intense study, has proven to be a total hoax on the American public, the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence ... " Trump wrote.

Should he not defend himself..?? Would you have a problem with his comments if the news didn't tell you to..?? Huh

"Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart," the President continued. "Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star ... to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius ... and a very stable genius at that!"

If the news has to tell you what to think about this, then you're just as mentally challenged as the Orange Cretin.

Of course he should defend himself. And pretty soon he'll be the only one willing to.
Media aside, the guy is unraveling. He's like some out of control child.
Even Fox is distancing themselves.
If he were as smart as he says he is he would walk away now, and save himself, his family and his country more embarrassment.
Just say America is not deserving of him and call his limo.

Interesting that you immediately jump to the conclusion that I have a problem with his comments even though I only posted his comments without an opinion. That certainly says something about you, or about the comments he made. Do you ever take off the orange colored glasses?

The news does not tell me what to do, I think for myself. My opinion is actually irrelevant, as are all here regarding politics. People at much higher pay grades decide what will happen. Though my vote does matter as does yours.

Liberals hate trump and they don't believe anything he says.

Yet they hang on every word.

So tell me: who has the instability?

I wonder why? Cool

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/trump-claims-database/?tid=a_inl&utm_term=.4cffa8661a96

Let's say you had a boss or employee who told almost 6 false or misleading statements to you every single day since you hired him over a year ago...would you believe anything that came out of their mouths?

And let's say that WP is being a little to aggressive in their Trump count and cut that number in half. That is still around 3 statements per-day. Forget liberals, I don't see how anyone can take him seriously.

As far as actions go...I like that he got rid of the TPP even though I've read that they're trying to put pieces of it back into other trade deals. I like his lobbying ban even though I would've liked to have seen it taken further. Everything else has been corporate giveaways so far.

Drain the swamp? Ha! He put a Trump Tower on the swamp and is now trying to pass it off as Fifth Avenue. Forgive me for not buying it.

Like I've stated previously, he's not the main problem. He just took advantage of the mess that our political system is in. I could be wrong but I feel like most Americans want to see some change in the direction that our governmental policy making has taken. At least polling has shown this, and not Obama "change." Actual change.

Until we...

Get rid of the electoral college.
Install rank choice voting.
Install term limits
Overturn Citizens United and have publicly financed elections...

I'm afraid we will not see much change. I'm not interested in majoritarianism per se; I would just like to have equal representation at the table when our government is making policy decisions that have serious consequences on my life. I'm not naive enough to think that I will ever have the same "equal" representation as those at the top; I would just like to get as close to equal as humanly possible.

I don't feel like that is too much to ask out of my government, do you?

Clinton would not have given the business owners as 40+% tax break.
And the crums the rest of us get will evaporate - while our benefits and deductions are being slashed across the board.

She also would not be playing the fool on the world stage.....

I would put this in the slightly better category. It would be a bit of a boondoggle to sit and argue about what Clinton may have done had she been elected, but I do seem to remember her being pretty friendly with some Wall Street types.

I think she spent somwhere around 2 billion on her campaign?...that's a LOT of favors.

And I happen to like that Trump makes us look stupid on the world stage...it keeps people paying attention to what is going on. If we had a Pence or Clinton in there...I don't think people would be watching as closely.

Clinton wanted to lower the cost of education and make business pay for it. But, in fairness if we hold her to the Trump standard of promise keeping - we she could have done anything.

The world watching us for leadership, innovation and honor is our tradition. Them watching us for buffoonery is new for us as a nation - but we got it.....

The president is an unstable, narcissistic moron.

There is no greater proof than him saying that he's a stable genius.

Next up, drafter is going to tell us he's skinny.

Of course it stings.
If you were smart enough to see what an absolute idiot we have as our president, it would "sting" you as well.

The fact that you're just happy because you've elected a president so completely incompetent that people are "stung" certainly suggests you don't give a rats azz about the health of this country.

Perhaps its the opposite?
Perhaps your deep love for trump, and the cloud of cheeto powder around your lips and nose is causing you to mistake it for "getting better". Given that there is no real proof that the country is "getting better" this seems likely.

And no... don't just claim the stock market shows it. The stock market is an indicator of market predicted profits. That does not mean the country is "healthy"

compare that to the damage from a moron who has given hate groups in our country the "you're ok" thumbs up, is making us look like idiots on a daily basis, has no consistent policy other than what fox news tells him to tweet every morning, and anger at whatever CNN says every evening (but he totally doesn't watch tv ever)...

he's a farking moron who has now turned our presidency into "hey, if that idiot can do it, I should run too".

His election has single-handedly brought the office of the president down to a level of stupidity that used to only be reserved for inbred monarchs.
