If you recall can you come back and post as to whether of not the Rom 101 maduros are any good? thanks!

The Ichiban maduro is better than the Drew Estate bundles IMHO. The Ichiban maduro has complexity and has a transition going from the 2nd to the 3rd. Dominant notes are Chocalate, nuts and a lil spice and an earhy core. On the retro this stick opens up with sweetness and the chocolate becomes somewhat creamy in both taste and texture.

Sorry for the late response. I forgot about this request.

Ya.............and when buying from the mothership, you never have to worry about the indignity of losing a bid.

Idk man... Msrp is over $6 on those nasty's... For a short fill cigar... A really small short fill cigar... Seems like a bad life decision... Not like transvestite-in-Vegas kind of bad life decision... But still not good...

Yea, but it's not your Uncle's short filler. These puppies have the best scraps in em and have always burned well for me. It's just nice to have access to a Liga 9 for a daily smoke. Some BOTL's can become jaded and fickle. Gonz

Nothing quite like the flavor a string of plastic tarp has in a premium cigar, tho a bird feather in a backwoods is worse.

.....that sounds great. Thank you. As long as there is some body to them and not a **** load of generic spice flavor like all Rocky Patel maduro cheapos have I'll give them a try.

Now that I have dove into them, I can report back that they are not all consistent as in flavor profiles. But all have burnt well and have plenty of body.

I feel like some have less of a cacao note and more earth and some have that bang on dessert quality. But all in all its a bundle stick and its the best bundle on the market right now IMHO. Way better than the RP Cargos for sure. These and the DE ones are on my bundled top lists.

I've been ready to lay low until the overpaying seasonal smokers where gone, but I did OK this week.

94 cigars for $158. A bunch of assorted AJ stuff (Ruination, Damnation, Virtue, Ava Maria, Diesel, Core, Fallen Angel), some La Palina (Classic and Paley's Vault), LA 1495s and 107s, some 601s and some Pepin stuff.

Nothing earth shattering, but not bad for everyday smokes.

Of course prices are higher than they were back in DPN's heyday. I havent bought anything in quite a while and don't plan to for a while. I'm even cutting back on my smoking and thinking about someday stopping entirely. It will be a couple of years or so until I smoke what I have now.

How do those La Antiguedads stack up to other Don Pepin offerings? Better than the original My Fathers?

The La Antiguedads are a little more expensive at the tenski place, but I know they'll actually deliver the cigars I buy from them in a timely manner...

Eh...........probably really can’t make that judgement call...........yet, as I haven’t had one with a long nap yet.
But my initial impression is not as good as the Le Bijou, but as good or better than the standard line.

yesss! I smoked a few of the fatter size last year. Out of the cello it was ok, but after 4 months of naked cedar aging it was much better and very good. Will be interesting to see if the thin ring Corona brings out more flavor then the 54 ring size.

A black AFR-75 box sits on my dresser and holds my keys and whatnot. It's a beautiful box and I was wondering if the cigars were good as well. That is quite a deal. Good find!

I need one of each. Been spending a lot of time outdoors and gotten lucky so far with sub par gar gear. Really a miracle that none have been smushed in such dangerous conditions. Hence the need for a case. It's getting windy and this dollar store lighter is on it's last leg, so a torch would be an excellent replacement Boo hoo!

I'm a mild to medium body type of guy (no pun intended) and I don't usually like full body smokes but I was surprised by the A.B. Tempus and Aging Room (quarto - F55?). I really enjoyed these.

I really liked the Monte Nicaragua but I need to sample it again. Other memorable smokes:

Fuente Hemingway
Ashton VSG, Cabinet select
Avo LE

.....the Tempus is an awesome smoke. The Tempus Nicaragua is also great. Hemingway is boring and overpriced. Ashton VSG & Cabinet are also excellent smokes if you want to pay that much. I've found blends here that offer just as good flavor for much less. And yes, Monte Nicaragua is also very good. Try the TTT Trinidad Santiago Toro (6" x 54). I won 10 for $37.50. V.G. solid medium smoke. Another medium blend you may like is AJ Fernandez Rosa de Guadalupe. The 6.25" x 54 Toro was very smooth after airing out naked for 4 weeks at 65% humidity. Bid $15 of a Pack of 5 and who should win sooner rather than later.

I also broke my cherry at the NEW, LOL, Thompson Auction, now CBid II. Won 30 nice Connecticut wrapped smokes for $85.50. Scored all 3:
Double Down CT Toro Sampler Rocky Patel vs San Cristobal - 10 Cigars for $28.50 x 3 = 30 cigars for $85.50
15 x San Cristobal Elegencia Imperial (6" x 52) (One of the best M to M smokes made)
15 x Rocky Patel Edge Light Toro (6" x 52) (Decent after a few months of naked cedar aging)

Basically the same shat offered as here only most auctions don't start at $0. Comes in handy for something like the above as you can't get the Elegancia here any longer at $0 either, at least most of the time. This is the answer I got when asking them why the packs of 5 for the Elegancia Imperial were starting at $33.50. Only see the Elegancia Robusto for a $1 in Pack of 5 now.
....."Thank you for contacting us. Ashton brands boxes are price protected, MAP Minimum Advertised Pricing structure. No authorized seller may advertise prices lower than what the MAP structure dictates. Within our contract, we have a limited amount of product that can start at a dollar, typically 5 packs."
