Just Trump being Trump. Nothing to worry about. These things work well in Noth Korea, China, the former USSR, Russia. Maybe he wants to test some missiles too. I wonder if the troops will need to goose step also? Perhaps a proclamation forcing all Americans to watch and cheer and wave is in order.

Because its fun and instills pride and in a way is marketing. Maybe not to you, but don't mistake the fact you don't think its fun or instills pride with others opinions.

There are parades all over the country multiple times a year. Some involve firetrucks, heavy equipment, some the national guard etc. The only reason this is upsetting is well.... trump. It's kind of a hysteria that moves folks from reality.

I did not state that you had to complain about everything he did. I stated that every time he did something "not befitting a president of the USA" we need to say something.

The Republicans have been saying that the Democrats don't care about the military for a long time. Much more recently with the latest government shutdown. Why not show the vets and American people how much you care by passing some reforms? That is what concerns me about this.

If I was president and my party controlled the government then I would pass a massive increase to veterans benefits and pay. The biggest would be in healthcare. A vet should be able to walk-in anywhere in the country and get medical treatment. This would be a HUGE boost for moral and support the veterans at the same time. Far better than a parade.

I don't complain about everything Trump does, but this parade feels a little self-serving to me at the expense of the military and American tax-payers. This is not just about Trump either. I would call out any president for the same. And of course I could be wrong about all of this. Maybe they all do really care about our veterans, and just feel they have more than enough already.

To be fair to the f$$ktard in chief, the only reason we think that this is a self serving parade is because of how the facts are presented.... the spin is that he saw the french parade and wants one. That doesn't necessarily jibe with the timing of everything, and knowing that the f$$ktard in chief has the attention span of a goldfish, I don't know if I would expect him to have been thinking of it since he was in france.

I mean... maybe he ordered it right after his return and we didn't hear about it... maybe he's been mulling it over since he got back. But we don't necessarily know this.
