May 3-6

Jespear mentioned that some guys/gals go up to just hang out in the parking lot and herf there.

So what is everyone's plans? I am considering going, depending on finances and the sort...but definitely only to herf in the parking lot. If I go, I will probably arrive Friday evening, spend the day on Sat at the lot and then leave Sunday morning.

For those that don't go in, what do you do for food? Are there bathrooms that people without a ticket can use? I only ask because I have IBS (I know, TMI), but it is a sticking point for me.

I figure we are about 2.5 months out so might as well get the conversation going.

Your needs will be met.
The entrance fee is well worth the price. You will get three times the ticket price in cigars and swag.
It's fun, but the weather can be rough there that time of year.
Talk to Tuck about getting a ride to the FGM Herf with the Cincinnati contingent. You will have more fun for a lot less money!

I've been going every year since 2008. It's great and you get much more than you pay for, but they've been jacking up the price in recent years. Basic ticket 100 --> 125 --> 165 --> 185. Still worth it, but eventually it won't be anymore if they keep jacking it up.

Split Rock resort has plenty of public bathrooms outside the ticket-holders-only areas, don't worry at all, you'll be fine.

Parking lot herfing is fun. Lots of guys do it. E-Z up tents, guys setting up BBQ rigs, etc. etc.

Come and enjoy, ticket or not!

They do jack up the price quite a bit each year. The PPC ratio (price per cigar) has been creeping up somewhat. If the food was better it would be worth it. If the price increases next year I might bail...

They didn't used to. It used to stay the same, or only go up a tiny bit. Now they jack it up a whole lot every single year.

Me too. Once it crosses the $200 line for the lowest-level ticket, I'm out. I've been there every year for 10 years, and that'll be enough. Pulled pork sandwiches and about 70 cigars that are about 60% good ones and 40% lame filler ones... well, that's only worth so much money.

I hope they don't keep being greedy. $110 turned into $125, then $165, now $185. Level it off for awhile at $185, guys, or people will stop coming. Alternately, jack it up again to $210 or whatever, but ditch the crap filler cigars and make them ALL good ones.

I've been told that if I show up, they have orders to shoot me on sight.

Sarcasm

The last time I went was 2012 when I won a VIP ticket for under $100. I always had more fun hurfing in the parking lot, then attending the actual event. Not that the event wasn't also a bunch of fun.

I remember in '10, that Johnathan Drew had a supply of pre-release Dirty Rats that he handed out to C-Bid forum members who asked for one. That cigar was probably one of the best smokes of all time. Considerably better then the excellant OR rats that I purchased based on that sample.

In '11, Steve Saka invited C-Bid forum members to his hotel parking lot to sample some pre-release Ligas like the L-40, etc. I had smoked 12 cigars that day, and had to pass. I'm kicking myself to this day.

Anyhow, the 3 years I went where worth it.
