Are they PCs? PCs are my favorite of the Boli line but really can't go wrong with any of their stuff.

You’ll definitely enjoy them. I’d say light one now, to treat yourself, and let the rest nap.

that can work if you got the box code list and let Ravi age them for you.

A nice choice for your first CC. Enjoy one now, then put the rest down for a nap.
You are in for a treat.

Paul, IMHO those are very good. Hid a couple at the bottom of your humi. I had one with about 5 years of age. It was such a fine treat.

Should I freeze them? I have never done that before.

Some freeze all. Many freeze some. I freeze few....unless I am unsure of the source....until/unless I find a beetle hole...on that rare occasion, I've frozen everything within hopping/crawling distance

It's personal preference. I Freeze almost everything that comes in. Sometimes I give nicer cigars a pass, but I always do at least a visual inspection on them.

For quite a while I was freezing everything not giving anything a pass... admittedly I've gotten a bit lazy in that regard.

I still freeze anything going into my overflow cooler because there's no temperature control, but I try not to get to that point, I try to just buy enough to keep my wineador full.

How long do you freeze them for?

what's the temperature in your freezer?

even scientific studies of tobacco beetle larvae are mixed -- but I think most will tell you that with 'ordinary' household fridge and freezer, you should be safe if:
24 hrs in fridge
72 hrs in freezer
24 hrs in fridge

Nothing about those times are absolute. If you have an ultra cold freezer (<-20F) you can get by with less time. Some put the cigars into freezer bags, first. Some use vacuum seal bags. Some just put the boxes in there. I use ziplocs, just because the freezer seems like a pretty dry environment. But, if you really want some science, start up a conversation about RH inside a cigar at various temperatures.

I freeze none...hoping it doesn't bite me in the arse one day. I have heard mixed reports on freezing. Specifically something to do with home units not getting cold enough to really do anything; not sure how true this is...I forget where I read it...one of these cigar sites, but they went in to great detail. Made me a believer.

as I said, studies are mixed.....BUT, if beetles are any concern at all, there's no harm (IMO) in freezing and some risk in not doing so....I've NEVER heard someone say that they got beetles from cigars that they had frozen

How long do you have to thaw out your cigars afterward? Probably a few months?

My freezer sits about -3 f. I freeze for 72 hours (sometimes I forget they're in there). Like dstieger I use zip lock bags, then I suck the air out with a straw. I don't use the fridge as an intermediary, straight in the freezer directly to the humidor. I've never had any problems with this method, again, personal preference.

As far as how long I let them rest, depends on the cigar, and the only way to know is smoke one right out of the freezer :D

rfenster freezes all of his smokes.

I've done some. I do it more often if they've traveled a long distance in warm weather.
No need to refrigerate after.

Good to smoke a week or so later if they "feel" ok.
Do the squeeze thing and decide.

You would be surprised.

I usually smoke one out of the freezer just out of some sick and twisted ritual, and they usually smoke just fine (I'm not going to lie, have had issues doing it in the past... but I just don't GAF :)

So you're probably better off listening to frank on this one, he's way smarter than me.

this time I'm even more smahtah cuz I learned from rfenster...he lives in FL so is more concerned about RH than I have to be near Boston

They are really good.
Only down side is you start smoking too many of "those" types of cigars, inevitably cigars you used to like?..........well, for some reason, many of them simply are not as good as they used to be.

They will spoil you, turn you into an elitist and then we get to make fun of you for being more picky than a finicky cat. Bwahahahahaha. I think that is what King is trying to say. Anxious

Wait this is Cbid, We will make fun of you anyway so you got nothing to lose.

Phug it, go for it I say.

I don't know, I went on a kick and I was smoking primarily CCs for a while, then I just kinda got burned out on that floral taste. I've found that I prefer Ecuador grown wrappers more.

Actually been getting into Connecticuts more too.

Something I learned here when I was a wee noob, but was a little bit hesitant to believe, is that your tastes change over time... well, I'm a believer now.

So I would say smoke them without worry, if you go on a CC kick and you never get off it, no big deal, there's cheap CCs too.

Don't get me wrong with all that I said, I still do love CCs, just not as often ;)

I think you may find the Davidoff's a bit mild given your other "likes". Herfing

^ this.

They do make some stronger cigars though, like their Nicaraguan and the Lounge selection (excellent smoke) come to mind. The Yamasa is on the stronger side too, but I didn't care for it much.

Thanks for the heads up, I have been buying cheaper cigars trying to find replacements lol but it's been hard! I did find a A. Flores serie Privada at the local that was real good, I bought some on cbid....we will see if it's the same

Try one, Bro! The Bolivar Royal Corona and Belicoso Fino are among my fave Cuban cigars.

Like bgz said, the flavor profile will be milder, floral and sweeter, especially compared to the LP 9, Tats and Opus that you favor. Most cc's are on the mild side, but with unique flavors unlike most other mild/med cigars from other places.
