not sure why there is such a wide spread of results. Don't think i've ever seen an auction like this before. Thoughts gang? I mean besides that c-bid is jumping the shark with the new design and shrinking variety.

Do you mind if we call you DieTrying ? Since you joined the forum in 2002 you have made 3 posts and this last post demonstrates that you may have just started to look at the auctions. Come back in a few years with a better question.

i've been quietly bidding, winning and smoking in silence for a long time. Just not joined in many of the conversations here. Let me elaborate on what I found odd in this particular bid and ask if this occurrence is new or something I've just not encountered before.

I bid early and was outbid. No biggie. Day of auction I decided it was worth upping my offer. 5 bids total at 22, 22.5, 22.5, 22.5, and 24 I think. Was willing to go about $25 for the lot, and the bid page said the minimum bid was 24.50, which I entered with a max of $25. (mine is the last bid, RR in Burtonsville). What I find odd, is $22 bid stayed at $22. Seems it used to bump up the low bid, not just kick off the highest bid you surpassed. I am used to seeing 2 rates, not a spread of rates like this. New algorithm to determine which bids get kicked? encouraging bidding earlier instead of coming in trying to snipe deals? or am I as Tony suggests, just a newbie that doesn't know his stogie from a stick in the ground? fog

Agreed. That is fd up. Your bid of 22.50 should have won. (Or at the very least, the top guy should be paying more now.) I've only used autobid for my max, but never seen anything like this one. Just another in a long list of reasons NOT to bid here.

The only new wrinkle in the bidding process is the $ .50 option. They should have a minimum bid increment notice in the description. I won an auction once recently where that .50 increment threw everything off.

Sheeeit D'Artagnan..........you just stumbled on some formulas that are even more complicated than "RAHs Cigar Math".

I'm with dstieger...........just another reason to stay away from bidding here for a while, to go along with the crap prices, horrid selection of decent cigars, and now.......bidding weirdness.

Come Cbid!!!
You USED to be the "Devil" site...........tempting people, forcing them to spend money they should not, offering deals which HAD to be bid upon.
Now?
You have fallen from grace, and you're becoming a running joke.
