Did it for awhile in my teenage years... lots of fun but also lots of work and you need flippers for sure...

I've watched our brother RJCardema fish, very successfully, from a float tube. IIRC he did have fins. I was in a john boat with a 50hp motor.

Cuz I'm smaht.

I remember when they first started this, using actual inflated inner tubes tied to a long rope that was anchored to shore...latest gear looks like a small inflatable catamaran with a seat in the middle and nooks and crannies for gear. Some models have motors, so fins are optional...

I have a U-tube,bass,crappie and catfish out of it every year.We have a couple walk in only lakes that are barely accessible from the shore but in a tube........you can go places no one else can,not even in a boat.As a matter of fact a buddy and I use his boat to get back in the tangles and tube fish from their for spring crappie.........We absolutely slay them big slabs.

I will also say after years of tube fishing that it is my favorite way to fish.As stealthy as one can get when pursuing spooky fish.My biggest fish tubing was a 16 lb hybrid striper. That bastid took me for about a half mile ride.......but there was never a doubt I was going to land him.Thats another thing about tubing......it becomes part of your drag system.

You need to troll for yellowtail with me, Ron. (double entendre intended)

Get the boat up to 5 mph, let your lures out... then drink beer and smoke cigars until your clicker starts singin'. Then reel in the fish.

It's beautiful.

sounds like fun, but Winnipesaukee is inhabited and surrounded by rich folk who get offended if you fish anywhere near shore, because they don't like you "fishing in their yard" d'oh!

Sounds like a great excuse for ol' MACS to show up and act like a Northeastern resident. (sarcastic smartass)

"You don't like me fishin' in yaw yaahd?" "F**k you!" Do suuhtin', ya fuhkin pansy fuhk."

C'mon. You know that's how we non-Kennedy's act.

I got spend about an hour jawing with an old boy up in the Iron Range of Minnesota few years ago that Muskie fishes from a float tube. Dude would go out and float for miles and battle f*cking Muskie all day in the damn thing. Can't remember his name but he's apparently kind of a legend up there. Old as hell but in better shape than I've ever been in. Looked like way too much work for me...lol

I've done this for years, we have lakes that are hike in only dry camping. One lake in particular Tanen is a Brookie hot bed, we literally will catch fish all day, females in the shallow, big males in the deep by the submerged log.

1. Do NOT USE ANYTHING except neoprene waders, the canvas style are a death trap waiting to happen. You WILL DROWN if you don't heed that advise.

ADVICE. Not advise. If I give you ADVICE you better listen. I advise you to read a dictionary to see the difference. Dipshit

I agree if you're fishing fast moving waters.............Breathables are so much more comfortable and all I use.I've been over my had more than once, still here to tell about it.Full of water it is way more difficult to say get in a boat.......dats why you slip out the waders then dump them once back aboard.

I went down in a hole in a slough with a shotgun.Waders full, soaked to the bone, shotgun never got wet .........I paddled a few feet to the shallows.BREATHABLES RULE!!!

Used one of these with flippers on a small lake a few years ago. I'd gone out on a kayak and caught some stuff but there wasn't anywhere to store gear and my hook got snagged on the front tie rope had to go to shore to climb out and fix it. On the tube there's room for stuff without sitting it all on your lap. Had a more relaxing experience on the inflatable.
