You need a relaxing weekend with experienced anglers to offset your tomfoolery. Have I got the cure for you...

Everything fun this year is scheduled on my weekends to work. I'll be watching for this next year. Need to have weekend off requests for the next year in by the end of December though.

Even my race/trackday weekends this year ALL fall on my weekends to work. Got the requests in on time, but since I'm senior staff, coverage is scant, and only one was approved. Pulled all the favors I had owed me to cover three of the seven weekends.

I love how little I have to be at work, but there's really not much flexibility for when I need to be there. Weekends are pretty much set in stone. Weekdays I can make my own schedule. Some people have deals where they don't work any non-holiday weekends. But that deal would compromise camping on weekdays when nobody's at the campgrounds.

My mom told me about a camper for sale just a little south of me. Same exact model as the one I have. Shot me a picture while driving past, the camper looked fantastic like it had been barn kept.

I drove down today to check it out. I figured if it was cheap enough and in good enough shape I could combine parts and keep on camping.

No such luck. Seller wants $2600 for it. Mine in similar condition was $0.. Sidewall of the trailer is separated from the front cap, bulging from water damage/rot. Both front and rear roof seals have failed - same as mine. They've gone on to disassemble the camper from the inside, didn't do any repairs. From what I saw when doing the repairs on mine, it was a manufacturing flaw in both of those seals, as well as the sidewall to front cap connection. Any camper left that wasn't barn stored would definitely have at least this much damage. There weren't many made to start, and nearly 20 years later I can't imagine there's many left.

The overall exterior condition of the camper was better than mine. Some delamination but not as much as I have. Wheels looked to be tracking straight - my axles have been re welded two or three times and no longer sit parallel, though they're straight. Could definitely use it as a parts camper, or even use it as a base and use mine for parts.

Called the seller to ask about the fridge, furnace and water heater since those are shot on mine. Thinking maybe I could buy some of the parts, swap for my busted stuff, and he could drop the price hoping for a quicker sale. He said no partout, just whole as-is. I offered $1000 as is, but he declined.

Made another batch of my Indiana jambalaya today.

I still think it's fantastic.

Wife thinks it's dog **** stew. It's 50 degrees outside and she's got windows open to get the seafood demons out of the air. You know, the raw shrimp that I packed in when the heat was off and cooked in the residual rice heat stank up the house so severely to warrant opening all the windows.

I put it all into tupperware containers so I have a weeks worth of meals to bring to work. Apparently they still let the stank out

She'll be bitching at me about the March utility bill too, since I had a cigar last week in the garage and ran the garage furnace for 45 minutes.

I agree. Last two years we've done this the latter half of May. If we're making this an annual thing, I guess we can expect to keep it that way. Make plans, man... I am certain Joel, Al, Anthony and I would love to be present when you turned your fishing luck around.

This trip isn't exactly shooting fish in a barrel, but it's close. Bait hooks... drop 'em... wait a few seconds... reel up fish.

I'm off today and the woman had to work. I'm sure she'd have been fine with whatever, but I know she loves the blackened salmon I cook... so I am cooking it now.

Get your ars back in the kitchen and off the puter and take that apron off before you go to the patio.

I myself am having a JL#2 '08 and a Suntory on the patio.

iPad... and the apron makes me look sexy. It doesn't say "kiss the cook" but I better get a hug and a tug for doing this.

Interesting to note, my choice was the JL #1... from '14, though. I'm not a friggin' aristocrat like you. Anxious

Life is too short to smoke crappy cigars. You reach for the lower shelf, while saving the good ones... and you die in a week and left those good'uns to some other MF'er.

Smoke 'em.

Agree 100%, Life is to damn short as it is and luck is not my best quality.

I love LFD. Yeah if I had to relight every 5, I would have gave up on it. I have yet to have that problem with a 101. Hope like heck I don't.

Chicken coop ramp rotted. Made with untreated wood 8 years ago so kinda surprised it lasted so long.

Made a new one today. Ladder style with 1" dowels. Coated it with Thompson's. Hopefully this one lasts.

53 degrees here in Oregon, with the sun out. Awesome day! Too bad it doesn’t last. Friday it’s supposed to snow....... Oh, and yes, I may be a little more mature than most guys my age, but that’s ok, I still enjoy doing stupid things like 4 wheeling in a mud pit with a Subaru in 3rd gear, or going fishing in February, even if it’s 💩 weather. lol
