Large charcoal piece on this one! It's 24" x 36" (2 feet x 3 feet) and the original will arrive framed behind non-glare glass.

Prints (or original if you're up for it) for trade.

I have always wondered why Cbid does not consider this a commercial purpose and take it down.

I would assume which as you know I hate to do. It is no different than those that trade homemade stuffs for stogies. The artist is doing the same thing just with a different skill set.

By the way Muhren, I seen your work when I first came to cibid. Excellent work for sure! I hope you get what it is worth.

On one hand, it is a shame that not everyone 'gets' your sarcasm....on the other, I suppose it wouldn't be as good if everyone did

He's participated in more trades than half the people here, and sent many unsolicited care packages.....so I take the fact that he's been a positive participant here into my view.

You're free to do what you want. I'm glad to read your reactions to differing opinions, and always seeing the high road.

You know Z, if some noob states they want to sell cigars you jump them. Perhaps you could consider being consistent instead of biased.

I stated something that was true and obvious. How you can interpret that to be bashing someone makes me question your thought process.

Also I don't give a rat's azz what your opinion is of someone and why should I, or anyone else?

You might have pointed out a positive reason that this behavior is ok, but you chose not to. Ewok did this and I am considering what he said and might change my opinion because of it.

Finally, the logic that he is a good guy so this is ok is flawed. Rules are rules. With you believing the Constitution trumps all it suprises me that you don't understand this.

Man, if Drafter openly calls him a punk....and I am taking x serious here which might be a mistake on my part, kinda throws a red flag for me.

Because if you actually read the post he is and always has offered them for TRADE" and not for cash. He simply watermarks the image with his web address to prevent his copyrighted artwork from being stolen and/or used without his permission.

Who was the metal worker that offered his creations for trade? Paul used to make custom ashtrays for trade. Beth? occasionally offers prickly pear jelly for cigars donated to the OpFTH.

Bart once SOLD gold clubs for cash here from the Pro Shop he managed, and that was allowed. But maybe that was before your time.

Maybe you should ask the owners of the site if it concerns you?

Maybe we shouldn't get our panties all up in a bunch because someone asked a question on here. I saw one reasonable answer and a bunch of bashing for being inquisitive. I just don't understand why it always has to be a jump on the first guy to not do it our way type of board. It gets old fast and is not really funny at all anymore. Bashing guys that have long relationships with each other is one thing but it crosses over to being rude when it is done constantly with people that don't have any type of relationship built yet.

Basically Speyside, they don't consider it to be competition so there has never been a reason for Cigarbid to delete the post. If they start to sell artwork though I bet it gets deleted.

Hmmm
Here's my thread assessment...

OP offers up art for TRADE.....clearly stated as such......been done here countless times.

Spey offers up a stupid observational question.

Z offers up sarcastic response which is intended to show that OP did nothing wrong.

Dstieger makes note of Z's sarcasm, realizing where this thread is going.

Spey attacks Z, essentially saying that Z is a hypocrite for bashing noops who come in here wanting to sell cigars, but won't bash long time member muhren for wanting to trade cigars for art.

Frank, drafter and ewok and others jump in to try and soften the thread.

King, showing amazing restraint, suggests Spey should contact Z's mommy and tell on him.

TG jumps in with his typical one liner.

Cacman chimes in to properly explain things to Spey.

King confesses that he originally wanted to tell Spey to STFU.......but that he is a now gentle person.

Z calls King a puzzie.

Shaun offers up lame, off base observations, and then from Mount High, explains to Spey what happened and why, cause Spey is kinda slow.

My question was based on Murhan being a commercial artist. The rules do state advertising and commercial purposes. Harvey would fall into the same category. Shaun's explanation makes sense to me. As far as people bashing, isn't that the Cbid way?

As for the art, what is going on in that picture? Am I correct in saying I see one fellow both holding a cigar and empty glass in his outstretched right hand while drinking straight from too large to be a beer bottle so looks to be a wine or liquor bottle in his left?

there seems to be some subliminal white guy whose right arm is the smoker's thumb and left arm is weilding a beer bottle or club
