Jespear...my SIL was drafted by them. Ended up with the Nationals. He didn't make it to the Big time but used his signing bonus money to buy a house...cars and put himself through college. Got to meet the team through him and he's friends with a few in the roster now.

Me?

I'm a Dodgers fan. I follow the Angels and Tigers too.

Astros are still going to be hard to beat.

John,
If today was an indication, we are in for another long season. Why the heck would Kapler take Nola out in the 6th, leading 5 to 1 with only 60 some pitches thrown? Once again, the bullpen looks like it s*cks.

Hopefully the Flyers will hang around into the playoffs for a few rounds so we can have a distraction from the Phillies. Of course the Sixers are already in, so that will be another distraction.

Oh, but your granddaughter looks as cute as can be.

When asked this question at the post game news conference, he never really answered it directly. He skirted the question by saying he had the highest confidence in his bullpen to get the job done. When he was asked if he thought NOLA couldn't get the job done, he gave the same BS answer about having the utmost confidence in the bullpen. Philly fans and Philly media are gonna eat him alive. His ego is as big as Frankie Tirpod's middle leg.
Once again, the bullpen looks like it s*cks.

Good luck with that, Dave. Michal Neuvirth only played 2 periods and sustained a "lower body injury" and is back on the DL. Lyons called back up to replace him. IF they make the playoffs, I don't think they will go far, considering their goalie situation.
Of course the Sixers are already in, so that will be another distraction.
Yeah, they're already in, but with Embiid "out indefinitely", after sustaining an orbital bone fracture and concussion from his collision with Fultz, it changes the scheme of things, to say the least.

Oh, but your granddaughter looks as cute as can be.
You'll get no argument from me on THAT, David !

Philly has a baseball team Sarcasm I wouldn't expect much from them this year beyond a possible .500 season. They aren't ready yet but expectations are higher then they should be because of a couple moves they made for older players. Those moves were to fill the seats and not so much to make a playoff push.

Now, the real team to be watching is the Sixers in Philly. Embiid or not they have a well rounded roster and are flowing as a team. Not to mention I think this Simmons kid might be the next face of the league (which I thought he was a bad attitude over entitled college player originally, boy was I off). It's a shame because none of this happens without the vision of Sam Hinkie but he is now the forgotten man. I am hoping they get that 3 seed and I could see them playing in the eastern conference finals, maybe even the NBA finals.

Simmons is the Rookie of the Year, at least for my money.
Excellent young roster, possibly contenders with a tweak or two next year, definitely the year after...and Fulz has had a couple of decent outings this week.

16 pitchers in the first three games . . . and one of them was a utility player. Brick wall

My mistake . . . It was actually 21 pitchers in the first 3 games . . . 16 in the last two.

My initial thought was I doubted he (gabe Kapler), would make the All Star break, but NOW, I'm thinking he won't make 20 games.

Yes . . . Yes I am !
I waited TOO long (50 years) for this.
And don't kid yourself . . . Had the Pats won, we would STILL be hearing about it.
You KNOW, that deep down inside, you are truly happy for me, right ?

I would have been MORE than happy to relieve you of some of those 1500-2000 cigars you have, had you come around a few months ago and made a wager on the game.

No, we won't go there. We also aren't going to mention a word about yesterday's Flyers/Bruins game.
