My spidey sense is telling me it's not impossible that Putin knew these chemical attacks would elicit a military response from Trump who would then appear to have no secret bromance with him. Even the blackmailing theories would seem suddenly unfounded.

Who knows what these egomaniacs would do to stay in power and subvert the truth.

I have been questioning this from the first reports. Unfortunately, pols or pundits who questioned the "Assad did it" explanation were branded as dumazzes or hoaxers or something....nobody suggested it didn't happen..just that it may not be clear who did it for some time....stuff in Syria is always far more complicated than portrayed in twitter-age news 'reports'.

I agree with you Phil....I loved Tucker Carlson rant the other night....paraphrasing loosely....Maybe Congress should approve an amendment to the Constitution; let's call it the Lindsey Graham ammendment "US shall not start any war until we unfluck the previous war"

I will keep my ears open, but have my doubts that we will ever see any actual proof. And If I'm being completely honest here, I wouldn't support action at this time even if they had proof. If Macron is ready to do something about it, good luck to him.

What about the option of him letting Russia know so they could get their troops out before we bomb the **** out of Assad's strong holds? Pretty sure if Russian soldiers are killed it will mark the start of WW3.

I'm guessing they finally released their proof before conducting this illegal bombing run. Could someone let me know where I could find it?

Meanwhile, where is our response to the thousands of children that have been injured, killed, or are currently dying in Yemen? Where is our response to the 750 people who were shot and 15 killed on the Gaza border not that long ago?

Horrific things have happened and continue to happen all over the world with no response from our government...why do we keep choosing Syria to exhibit our moral superiority?

Few details are out so soon, but even the CNN reports I saw this morning called the attack "precise" and "limited" and admitted that it sent a message without causing enough concern for retaliation. (Talk about shock and awe: CNN seemingly reporting on the facts.)

This bombing as not intended to address the civil war over there. It was entirely focused on the chemical weapon attack.

Overall, this seems well restrained.

The only thing illegal was Syria's use of chemical weapons. And now they know there will be consequences.

You seem to simultaneously want the US to do less (stop bombing Syria) and more (let's bomb everyone who perpetrate atrocities).
