IF you are planning on getting something from CI that does not include free shipping, here is a $9.99 deal to check out:

https://www.cigarsintern...ts-ii-samplers/1509915/

Of the cigars there, I enjoy the MOW and the Diesel quite a bit. The Genesis is a good smoke - but not nearly as fine as when they first came out. The AV Crusaders I have found to be inconsistent. They range from a very good spicy AJ smoke to a well made, good burning, yard gar. The Vegas Gold? well, if I don't give it out to a moocher at a party, I will keep it to just munch on without lighting up when playing poker - they hold up well for that (the wrapper may be made from synthetic fiber) but that's about it.

The lighter is not great. They are very uncomfortable to use, but they work - CI tossed two of them in an order before for no reason, that's how valuable they are, but better than the $1.99 gas-station Bics. I am guessing you can get that cutter for around $1-2 at a B&M.

BUT, if you add this to your order, the whole order ships for $2.99, which is $4 less than CI's super-saver shipping.

Soooo, if you were already ordering something that did not have a shipping deal (as I was), you effectively get 4 pretty good to nice smokes, one give-away-to-someone-that-won't-know-the-difference cigar, a golf-bag/glove compartment lighter and a cutter that you won't get upset over if you lose it, all for a penny under $6. Not bad at all.

Well that is bizzare. I paid $9.99 and I linked right from the page I was on, but the link above sure says $29.99! (and I defiantly wouldn't pay that!)

Looks like you have to get there this way, which is how I found the deal in the first place:

Hope it's OK to post the above (it is an "outside" web site, but takes you to CI, so I think that is kosher) If not and it's deleted, just search for cigar international coupons and scroll until you see Slickdeals

Yup, I ALWAYS check for coupons and promo codes before I order just about anything. The fact that you can't get the $9.99 deal without some hunting makes it feel even better! Only one per customer though if through slick...

We interrupt this Henny Youngman retrospective to get back to the OP:

Got the $9.99 sampler pack in the mail yesterday with my CI order. Interestingly, the sampler was in a separate bag with a nice little humi-pack inside, while my much more expensive main order had no humi in its packaging. Ah well, important to protect that 5 Vegas.....

The cigars all game in good shape, no problems there.

The lighter was the same one as they had given me free before. Better than a Bic but not by much, will put it in the beach bag.

The cutter was cheap but better than I expected. Noticeably sharper and smoother than the $1.99 ones I grab at the B&M at times. I would give it a good $4 rating.

So in all a good deal still.

Now back to the one-liners...

Yup, nothing amazing but the shipping deal made it a worthwhile purchase at $9.99. Sure not worth the $29 without the Slickdeals link. If you I value the merch at around 6 bucks or so and used the shipping deal to your advantage, you basically got several almost free decent smokes.

Or, just use promo code "SUNNY" to get free shipping on any order without having to buy anything extra (at least, as of this writing).

You're welcome!

went through the slickdeal link, got the 2.99 shipping.. I like the moretti lighter, hard to figure out at first but have used one for a year and dependable. CI sells it for $7 and it goes for more than that here, so that alone makes it a good deal and free shipping on anything else ordered with this deal

Thanks, worked good for me. Used it on getting one of those $29.99 glass top humis with 10 gars. Buy one of those each year to put in this charity auction I help with. Will keep the one or two cigars I will smoke, toss in a couple I have picked up over the year I'm not going to touch then auction off the bundle. Always goes for WAY over what I pay, but free shipping made it even better!

Awesome. I love sharing sales and codes with other cigar guys. Sometimes I get told about an awesome sale, code or stack of codes, and sometimes I do the telling, and make some other cigar guy's day. I've saved a crapload of money over the years this way, and have helped other cigar guys save big too! Sharing is caring!

Pretty cool about the charity, too!

Agreed. I belong to another board that has a "cigar deals" thread. I post there all the time, and receive codes and deals from others.

But with that said, we really should be careful about the "outside" deals we post here on the open boards, in respect for our hosts. Many of times I've had the desire to post a deal with the typical "code names", but have refrained. Other times I hint at things, but I really need to stop that.
