I wrote pretty specifically that I am mild in anti-Trump
statements. But though I hope for us to win, I simply don't think he can do it, to you that sounds like hate.
Beyond that he does exhibit lunatic and undignified behavior that I find disrespectful of the highest office in the land. It feels like I respect the office more than he does. Opinion, mind you, not vitriol. Like you said, wouldn't be my style.
I think when anyone opens with "...all (fill in the blank w/opposing group name) believe/say/do..." the discussion has already been framed and narrowed in a way that said opposing viewpoint has been incorrectly portrayed and not heard. Subsequent exchanges are never based on enough accuracy to be more than cigar forum entertainment. So, I'll never be able to defend my position when you write it first. As much fun as it may be.
Regarding NK...you may have missed when I wrote that any nuke disarmament is positive. I think I said I hope Trump can get the whole world to do it. I may have said something like Bravo.
But an intelligent discourse can also include a personal interpretation of the unsaid or gray areas. I truly have not been reading up on Lib sites, watching Lib fake news...I really have come up with personal opinions/theories about NK over the years and here is where I believe we have landed in these times of anxiety (you may not find this anywhere else, a c-bid exclusive that to me is neither lib nor con).
My thoughts:
NK's nuke program has been portrayed as much scarier than it is in reality. That uniquely suits the motives of both the Press and the Prez!!...it assists Fatso in his quest to be the new foreign monster threat, a raving lunatic with The Button! Yikes! Oh how we've missed bin Laden.
Fatso knows he may not be able to stave off a revolt forever. Starving people eventually get riled up enough to storm the palace. Also, the dark in which they have been kept for decades has been infiltrated with streaming info, internet sneaks in, people sneak in and out more and more, neighbors to the south just held the Olympics! The world attended and watched. The sealed unit that was NK will never be the same.
Everyone wants job security. Fatso knows we can help keep his despicable azz in the throne, we have many decades of doing so on just about every continent. Not far fetched that he could be next.
If world war III broke tomorrow, he will be protected by China, he does not need nukes for protection. he is willing to give up something he doesn't need. Not a negative, but not really as big a deal in keeping the world safe than if Russia, China, even India or Pakistan de-nuked.
But it has been sold to the masses already that he is a lunatic with a button, so wild applause breaks out...among those not seeing the forest for the trees.
The Press is delighted, Fatso keeps control and Trump gets the Nobel Prize...and I still haven't bashed him.
You're proud of your guy, and I'm left seeing the forest. Not win/win for you/me, not win/hate either. More like win/shrug.
Simply my assessment, not bashing, no authorized-by-the-Lib-clearinghouse. Just me ignoring what libs and cons believe, just me adding up what appear to be the numbers in front of me.
