it's looking like the blue wave was just wishful thinking...all the angst on the left over Trump doesn't seem to result in higher voter turnout...and in a deep blue state like CA, the GOP held its own...

Or maybe the people that have lived in CA for a long time, see how good they had it when Reagan was in charge, and how horrible it has become with the dems in charge?

People are leaving the state... with their money. The taxes and fees here are ridiculous.

the door was wide open, but without a clear message being offered, people tend to resist major change into the unknown.

dunno about the majority, just saying that no one knows what the dems are offering, other than "not Trump". Apparently that won't be enough.

taxes are high, and housing costs are ridiculous...people are moving out...mostly poor people...but when you consider the size of the state's population, the percentage of people moving is relatively small...here's an article from a conservative OC newspaper:

https://www.ocregister.com/2017/01/18/numbers-bust-the-myth-theres-no-great-exodus-from-california/

wish that number was a lot bigger/more people moving away...traffic is terrible...going to an Angel's game, more people rooting for the out-of-towners...

I was gonna say.... If people were moving out rent would go down and there would be some respite for housing prices.

There isn't.

More people are moving in that are moving out MACS....and the people moving here are wealthier.

^I don't know, Victor. I just found this article in the New York Times that tends to contradict you. Here's an excerpt.

Quote:

Decrease of Population in California
….. The cities and towns throughout the state, with the exception of San Francisco, show the effects of the depletion. They are barren, dull and declining. Business houses may be seen on every hand with closed doors. Property has declined at a fearful rate, and may be bought almost for a song. The causes of this depletion are numerous. …..

Of course the article is from 1863. :-"
