Weird...

Maybe Randy Quaid is right about the 'hollywood star whackers'. Think

They branched out. ??

According to CNN it was suicide. Sad. I enjoyed his shows.

First Spade and now Bourdain. Don't these incidents usually come in threes?

His show was GREAT...EASY going guy that went anywhere and was well known by hundreds of not thousands of chefs..
He would eat some strange stuff but not that totally weired CRAP a few copycats on TV EAT....

BOURDAIN was very entertaining, informative on food, local culture and history...I never got bored watching his show...

He did like to drink and party on the sly (I'm guessing a few illicit items? But that is only speculation?)...I watched him drink a lot many many times...who knows what was going on in his life? Perhaps the few articles I haven't read will delve deeper into it....

My guess? He battled with depression perhaps? and softened whatever woes he had with alcohol...
Marriages? Girlfriends? Kids? I know nothing about his private life....

I will miss his New shows but he has scores of old ones to watch again...
Sad news indeed, a very talented chap...

THE BEST TRAIT OF HIS??

HIS NEVER ENDING MENTIONING & VOCAL DISLIKE
OF ALL THINGS H.I.P.S.T.E.R. & A real concern that MILLENIALS HAD "NO CLUE" ABOUT REAL LIFE...
That made him a hero in my book...

“I wish I had known then what I know now, that when you get to the top there’s nothing there.” - Harry Patterson (Jack Higgins, best-selling author and novelist)

“I had won Wimbledon twice before, once as the youngest player. I was rich. I had all the material possessions I needed. . . . It’s the old song of movie stars and pop stars who commit suicide. They have everything, and yet they are so unhappy. I had no inner peace. I was a puppet on a string.” - Boris Becker

"I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer." - Jim Carrey

Bourdain had spoken openly of his struggles with substance abuse. In his book "Kitchen Confidential," he said that in the '80s, he was a heavy user ofdrugs including cocaine, LSD, mushrooms, codeine and heroin.

Struggle no more. RIP

I knew Bourdain many years ago the way I know most of you. In a message board. At that time, he was still the chef of Les Halles and was in the process of writing Kitchen Confidential. He was the real deal. His "thoughtful bad boy" image was not an act. He managed to remain loved and respected in the Culinary community because he was no bull**** and stayed true to himself and to all the unsung heroes in that world. Even though I personally have been out of that world for a long time now, I still considered him a Brother in Arms. RIP, Tony.....ya Motherf*cker.

I dunno, man. If being rich is the key to happiness then the rich would be dancing in the streets... but only poor kids do that. If power equals security, then why do rich and powerful need bodyguards? Those who live simply, sleep soundly.

G.R.I.N.G.O. F*K who was "Hung like an ECHIS Snake and would steal all their women's" then kick them out the old Toyota truck doors around noon about TWO BLOCKS FROM THEIR HUTS and throw handfuls of HAMILTONS OUT THE CAR DOOR AT THEM WHILE HE LAUGHED HYSTERICALLY ....
YELLING " I'M AN AMERICAN SUB-CONTRACTOR...I AM...
I AM..."

Tony was a great guy. Respected him deeply; he motivated me to get out and travel, to see the world. Who gives a chit about the sights? It's the people that matter and I've connected with so many people abroad now. All I have to say is that he had his struggles and I'm confident that if he wasn't crashing and burning then it was auto-erotic asphyxiation.

I absolutely loved his disdain for the food network chefs and called out most of them for not having real experience or running real restaurants. I especially loved his disrespect of Bobby Flay and Gay Fierie. I mean Bobby is from Jersey, wtf business does he have tinkering with Southwest flavors? It's that kind of nonsense that Bourdain saw through.

He was a badass overall and I f'kin respected him. Always humble and down to earth yet very dignified. It was a pretty hard day when I heard the news.
