If you are wishing for or rooting for the owner of the red hen to suffer repercussions then are you not just as guilty of what you proclaim to be against? Just a rhetorical question. I'm not accusing anyone specific but when are we going to stop focusing on tearing people down?

She should suffer repercussions. She's on record for discriminating against someone from her establishment... lawful discrimination, but discrimination never the less.

I believe it to be unwise to turn down business for petty reasons.

But wish it on her I do not, cause I don't really care how other people choose to run their businesses.

I wouldn't eat there knowing that though, because I know if I did or said any little thing to set her off, she might spit in my food.

You have to love how the MSM left that small tidbit out of their reporting.

Quote:
Mike Huckabee: Red Hen owner followed Sanders family to another restaurant

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee alleged Monday that the restaurant owner who refused service to his daughter, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, actually ended up following Mrs. Sanders‘ family to another restaurant and causing a “scene.”

Mr. Huckabee told conservative radio host Laura Ingraham on Monday that Stephanie Wilkinson, owner of the Red Hen in Lexington, Virginia, kicked Mrs. Sanders and her family out of the restaurant and then proceeded to yell at them when they tried to go to a different restaurant across the street.

“There’s a part of that story that hasn’t been told, you’re going to be the first to hear it,” Mr. Huckabee said, Mediaite first reported. “Once Sarah and her family left, of course Sarah was asked to please vacate, Sarah and her husband just went home. They had sort of had enough. But the rest of her family went across the street to a different restaurant.

“The owner of the Red Hen — nobody’s told this — then followed them across the street, called people, and organized a protest yelling and screaming at them from outside the other restaurant and creating this scene,” he said.

Mr. Huckabee said Ms. Wilkinson squandered an opportunity to have a thoughtful discussion about her political differences with his daughter.

David...

Maybe because that's not a proven claim.
I was curious about that so I did some digging. This continued heckling was a claim made by Mike Huckabee in an interview on fox on Monday. It is not something mentioned by the restaurant owner... And I've seen (only dug through a couple pages of Google, so maybe it's deeper) any corroboration.

If the restaurant owner is organizing a protest outside her restaurant to harrass Huckabee at the restaurant across the street... In this day and age I would expect to see tweets about it from customers, or from the other restaurant owner... Some additional supporting information. People video any dumb thing going on around them.

So perhaps Huckabee exaggerated for the interview. But I wouldn't expect a reliable news source to run with something as fact based off a claim from one party days later....

I'm sure at some point it will end up on Snopes.

Holy crap.

You automatically recoil and deny when the left are exposed for what they truly are.
I'd say it was an uncontrollable response like a sphincter contraction during a prostate exam, but I'm sure you've got yours well trained by now.

... no... I specifically looked up a claim David made, because it seemed odd to me.

I only have evidence from one person, Mike Huckabee... On an activity which sounds like it would generate a lot more noise than that. Not news noise... Social media noise. People dont go outside yelling and protesting others without Facebooking it... Or the people being protested live streaming it. Not seeing that noise makes me doubt the single source claim.

Have you ever seen me do otherwise?

The funny thing was... His claim wasn't even that Snopes was wrong about maggots in a vajayjay... He was just upset that they would fact check that...

Actually, depending on why they're wrong that's pretty accurate. Was it simply an error, or does it appear to be bias?

If you go to a cigar shop outside the US and spot a fake cuban, do you trust that any of the others are the real deal?

The restaurant has been closed since she lost her mind and decided she didn't understand what commerce was all about.

Now, there's "blood" in the water and ANY restaurant named Red Hen is paying the price for her stupid actions. Ooops...I bet she never thought about that!

Hope it was worth it. Doesn't seem like right decision to make, but when you want to deny people service after you let them into your public place of business, sat them and let them have appetizers while the meal is coming...EPIC FAIL.

Tail I don’t trust any one source of news completely but I guess I’m just not as likely to throw the baby out with the bath water as you.

I find the cigar example to be apples and oranges but there’s a lot of that going on now days. That said if in a B&M I tend to check out each cigar before I buy and if I had an issue I’d talk to them and form my opinion on their reaction. I assume I’m not going in there predetermined to discredit them.

Cigars are a commodity. Information is more fluid and less precise. Snopes lays out their take and footnotes it. You can follows their logic and their footnotes and disagree with their conclusion if you like. To summarily discount it seems odd.

In fairness I do a little of that myself. I tend to discount Tyler Darden and Alex jones. They tend to not provide an accurate basis for their info in qwhich you can go to primary sources. That and line everyone else I’m a hypocrite.

Snopes called the maggots story "Legend"

So what am I missing?
A) Did they ever say it was true?

B) Or did they get slammed just for looking into it?

You have to admit, it probably dissuaded lots of coeds from having oral sex.
Even I thought, either way, it was uh, food for thought.

TG this is the politics thread.

Some here think that because Snopes weighed in on the maggots story at all, it must not be a reputable source.

I'm gonna guess this was on some Breitbart or other site... Because Snopes was around for a long time, and suddenly their excuse why it must not apply to the most recent political discussion stopped being "because they use liberal facts" and became "yeah the site that talks about maggots in the vajayjay"....

Got it.
So Breitbart or whomever is reputable, reliable and just delivering the facts, even though it's covering the same disgusting maggots story's coverage from an untrustworthy source, Snopes.

Weird.

But got it.
