Hey Guys,

It's been quite a while since I was active on the forums. The last time I was around was in the end of 2013 I believe. I was in Afghanistan and I had TONS of support from the community here. Here's an update on what has been keeping me away.

While I was deployed, I experienced what I later found out was a spinal cord injury. I lost a lot of nerve function in the right side of my body from my nipple line down. When I got home, I started getting some sensation back, but when the docs looked at my MRI, we found out that I had a tumor in my spinal cord that severed the nerves going to that side of my body.

After a while, it was decided that I was no longer fit to serve in the Marine Corps, or any branch for that matter. On top of that, shortly after we found all of this out, we found out that my wife was pregnant with twins. She had a lot of complications and was admitted to the hospital when she was 20 weeks pregnant. The twin were born at 30 weeks, and then spent the next 10 weeks in the NICU.

All of this happened in a very short period of time and it was very hard on my wife and I.

I finally had surgery to remove the tumor in February of last year, after it caused a great deal more damage. The surgery went well, but I had a lot of nerve and spinal cord damage from the surgery. The doctor said it would be 18-24 months to recover from the surgery. I finally got over the hump and am starting to feel a little better.

That being said, I have been away from the cigar game for quite a while and I'm not sure where to start. I'm sure there are a lot of new cigars. I used to smoke things like the triple maduro, man o war of all types, and even the punisher from time to time and many more like this, but I'm not sure I want to get back into it with strong cigars. I might try a few more mellow cigars, and maybe some infused.

What are yalls recommendations on getting back into it. Also, is anybody selling a cheaper humidor on the small side?? Just something to store 20-30 cigars.

Thanks guys

Thankyou for your service.

That is one hell of a lot of S.T.R.E.S.S. for a person and his wife to go through all at once....good to hear some improvement has been made.

Cigarbid has a merchandise section that usually ends on Thursdays...but the shipping ( for the weekly choice is SHIPPED ON THURSDAYS)...SO if you win a bid, it won't ship till the following Thursday...not a big deal but it is what it is.

Tons of GREAT HUMIDORS IN THE BIDDING SELECTION.

I RECOMMEND THE SMALL "WHITETAIL" HUMI...
It has a glass top and outside guage
50 cigar size -$39.99 at Cigars International
But only $15-21 bidding on cigarbid

Or the WHITETAIL II (100 CIGAR) HUMIDOR
IT HAS A GLASS TOP , outside gauge , a key AND A TOP ceader TRAY...
$79.99 ON C.I., but $25-38? On cigarbid..

I HAVE won 3-4 but gave two away to friends...
Just don't expose it to direct sunlight....
They are both great humidors.

You also need a HERF-A-DOR...A HEAVY DUTY
PLASTIC PRESSURE SEALED TRAVELING HUMIDOR CASE.
COME IN SEVERAL SIZES, 5 CIGARS, 10, 15, 25, 50...???
The 10 or 15 are the best and go cheap sometimes on cigarbid, like $10-13 as opposed to $20-30 retail.

PM ( personal message ) me your USPS snailer address and I can send you some decent cigars to try , punch cutter, & lighter too.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I'm bidding on a few things that I'm hoping to start another collection with. We'll see how the auctions go, but I'm pretty sure I'll have enough to keep me smoking for a few weeks.

Warren, did you finally get the $19.99 price?

Here's a pre 1990 suggestion....

Just call the C.I. 1-800 number and tell them you want to order the Ultimate Combo cigar and humidor offer #451 for $19.99...
Bypass all phone or computer orders and talk to a human!

I bet that will work.
