Trump is an equal reflection of the body politic as a whole.

1 : a leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain power

2 : a leader championing the cause of the common people in ancient times

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/demagogue

I'm going to disagree. Following legislation on the books isn't a "false claim" nor a "prejudice".

He didn't fool anyone into thinking he was something he wasn't. He hasn't changed. He simply changed his political party. What if...big IF here...he really wanted to delay his life of luxury to make a difference? Look at the leadership this nation has had in recent times. He has more in common with Ronald Reagan than Barack Obama.

Everyone conveniently forgets he was writing checks, attending parties for the DNC his entire life. Anyone know who he called first when he decided to run for President?

Is he perfect? Nope. The only person that was they crucified and stabbed on a cross.

clearly we've got to start harrassing supreme court justices as they go about their private lives... how else will we ever become a nation of tolerance and love?

Z, I think Doc and I can both be correct. The answer is probably somewhere in the middle. It seems to me that a large problem we face today is that no one is willing to find the middle ground where comprise exists. But then again what do I know? I'm just a liberal who believes the constitution is where we find answers, and to top it off I have a lot of civil libertarian beliefs.

President Trump is a demagogue.

If he knew what demagogue meant he would probably agree with you.

The word demagogue is used in a negative sense today to describe a politician who appeals to people's emotions and prejudices to mislead them, making false claims and promises...

Honestly, which president hasn't been one? I do think that Trump has taken it to a whole new, and not particularly good level. fog

I had spotted D1ck once, but the Dr. had me soak it in lemon juice/vinegar and it cleared up in 2-3 days...
