I was getting them so frequently I no longer answer my phone unless the caller is in my contacts. The other annoying one is on our business line. The automated voice says it needs to confirm our address for Google. It ultimately leads to a salesperson trying to sell a package that will get more hits and look nicer. Click.

Nigerians, especially princes, are very helpful to Americans.

Hmm, that’s why I am a member of the national no call list.

Fat lotta good that does... may as well be a member of the national "don't send me spam e-mails" list.

Hmm, I haven’t had any issues. Although if you do, merely go online and file a complaint against the group with the FCC.

The scammers generate phony numbers that appear on your caller ID so basically there's no way to complain.

I often receive emails from Nigerian lawyers who need me to represent them in the U.S. over a $10 million
business sale. All I need to do to get their is wire them $50 thousand electronically to show good faith...

be careful. It is set up for land lines, but many people figured they should cover cells as well...which is allowed.

consider that there is no "white pages" for private cells, the major carriers said they would not release that info several years ago, but people are voluntarily listing theirs with the government when they seek (ineffective) relief from annoyance calls.

and thus creating a national cell phone registry, defeating part of the beauty of private cell phones.

a modern twist on trading freedom and privacy for a little security.

and this from a lib. don't get me started on Lojack…!

It's simpler than that. The blocks of numbers owned by cell carriers is public information and easy to find. They then have a computer auto-dial every number in a block. The ones that ring get transferred to a human scam actor or recorded message and saved in a database for future use.

And if you answer the call, your number gets bumped up to another list, and the calls will increase d'oh!

I don't answer any calls

about a month ago I got a dozen calls in 3 days, that left me voice mails stating that the IRS was looking for me in regards to unpaid taxes, and if I didn't contact the number they left on voicemail within 24 hours local law enforcement would be showing up at my address to take me into custody....needless to say I didn't call and law enforcement has yet to show up...and to top it off, I'm pretty sure I have my taxes paid up to date...d'oh! d'oh!
