I'm trying really hard to follow the tenets of my faith... and avoid strife, and not let anyone steal my joy... and turn the other cheek and stuff, but it is all I can do to refrain from putting dish soap all over her windows.

Oooooohsaaahhhhhh. Maybe some breakfast would help.

Gots a brisket on the bottom rack, and a pork butt on the top rack of the WSM cooker. The butt keeps dripping juices on the beef. Is that bad? Think

At this very moment, that is 100% accurate. I'm being compensated well for my time, though... so there is that.

Mom smiled, and asked I return the hello, and hopes everything is good with you. Dad.... "Shawn who?.... oh, the fishing guy. Great. Hi back!"

Three hour float, Miller High Life. Saw a deer, a swimming garter snake, and a bunch of sunshine.

Very enjoyable evening, last night.

Started off with chicken thighs rubbed down with Joe Kem's BBQ Rub and sloshed with Smokin' Temptations Championship BBQ Sauce and cooked on the rotisserie.
Followed by a Diamond Crown Maduro, while listening to Taj Mahal on Spotify, out on the front patio.
I also had a cocktail, but I ain't gonna tell ya what it was 'cause y'all would make fun of me.
The rub, sauce, and cigar were all part of Corey Sellers' 4th of July CAT prize that I won.

Thanks again, Corey.

jes

Pain in the ass Saturday night dealing with the children who live upstairs....

They must have been out drinking with their friends at some point because at about 2am one of their drunk friends rang my doorbell (terrible buzzer noise)... I had just fallen asleep so I was a little pissed off... Go to open the door and no one was out front. So I go back to sleep. A few minutes later, I hear someone kicking the metal gate. Again, I had just fallen asleep. By this time the woman has woken up and is getting pissed....
Third time the doorbell buzzer goes off... I open the door and this little punk is asking me to let him in because he lives upstairs. I tell him I'm not going to and go to bed. Then it happens again... He's telling me he's friends with someone upstairs... Again I go to bed.

This goes on until 3am. I'm tired of this **** so I put some shorts on (I had been having these conversations in my boxers because f&ck him he has to stare at my ****** if he's going to wake me up) and go outside and pound on the upstairs neighbors door. No one answers, but the little punk still won't go away. So I go outside and shove him away from the door a little bit. By this time I am really really really looking forward to hitting him. All I want to do at that hour is hit him a few times... Kick him a few times... Nothing terrible... I don't want to curb stomp him or anything, just give him a broken nose and a couple cracked ribs... But I get outside, grab him and drag him away from the gate and he's yelling "hit me! Just try it!"... And goddammit I know I can't beat on him a little... He knows where I live which means he can report who I am....

So goddamn frustrating that didn't get to beat him... He didn't come back to the door after that, so he must have gotten the hint... But damn I really still want to hit him... Or just break a finger or two... It's been all I can think of the past two days...

You're not wrong rmann... That perfectly summarizes my past two days. Little punk couldn't have been more than 170lbs... It would have been so easy and so satisfying to hurt him a little...

Huuuge Haboob came through last night with high winds and rain. The pool took a hit but between me netting and the pool vac it will be back in good shape in a few hours. We get haboobies often in July/August.

The neighbors were not as lucky. A 50 year old mesquite broke an arm against their roof and crews are taking it down now. On the plus side the whole neighborhood will have plenty of great BBQ wood for a long time.

Opel... You stay home with the kids all day smoking pot... What possible reason would you have for throwing your phone????

The food cart had bbq corn on the menu today. The Idaho corn is ripe and it’s $4/dozen at the farmers market. I never paid much attention to varieties before, but the locals here have sold me on the Ambrosia variety. Trying to perfect the topping. Today was salt, butter, chipotle, and Mrs Dash.
