I am looking to replace a particular morning NC that went out of production....let me know if you are aware of something fitting this description:

Mild to Med strength Maduro
Full flavor
Chocolate is predominant
Slightly sweet, but NOT flavored, nor sweetened tip
RG between 45 and 52
Slightly dry finish ok -- no thick fireproof wrappers
NOT San Andreas wrapped

I’m not good at gauging strength, but the first thing that comes to my mind is the Perdomo Champagne Noir. I’m more of a Connie smoker in the morning (I like the bitterness with sweetened coffee).

Thanks, guys. Been a number of years since I had those three, too. Will give them a shot!

IIRC, I may have made the mistake of expecting too much from OH and 858 maddie (unfair comparisons) - OH, as a DPG paled next to the JJ Maddies I was smoking at the time and once I discovered 858 SG's, I never went back to any 858's again. And as to Tuxedos, I don't remember much....except that I never felt that CCrafter's offerings were worth the price...of course I was only buying $3 cbid cigars back then....Time to revisit.

edit: looks like Tuxedos are all OOS

Eiroa the First 20 Years

4.8 out of 5 Ratings

An occasion worth celebrating.

The Eiroa family purchased Camacho cigars in 1995, giving Christian Eiroa his start in the industry. Under the family’s guidance, Camacho cigars became a juggernaut and became world famous for their stout and potent lineup of cigars. Now with his new brand CLE cigars, formed after Camacho was sold to Davidoff, Christian is celebrating his 2 decades in the cigar industry with a special release, Eiroa the First 20 Years.

Hailing from Honduras, Eiroa the First 20 Years is a box-pressed Honduran puro containing a special type of tobacco in the binder and filler that hasn’t been used in a cigar in over 50 years. With a strength and flavor profile that will have you smacking your lips with fond memories of great Camacho blends of the past, Eiroa the First 20 Years will captivate you from first light. Full-bodied and packed with a full boat of pleasing flavors, expect nuances of dark chocolate, espresso, baking spices, nuts, earth, and leather to provide a well-balanced and complex experience. Give this stellar blend a try and enjoy the fruits of a master-blender at his best.

Eiroa the First 20 Years received a well-deserved 92-rating noting: "Pressed and oily, this dark maduro delivers a chewy, concentrated smoke fortified with notes of nougat, cloves and sweet star anise. The finish resonates with leather and wood."

Worth a spin.

Gaddam!
If I wasn't so jaded by bs reviews..........but man........it does sound like it's right in my wheelhouse..........with the exception of the "sweet star anus" bit.......that's more like Z's favorite flavor.

A certain gentleman from a low-rent district would say it's a crappy yard gar and can't hold a candle to The King Of All Cigars, the CAO Brazilia, and A Serious Contender To The Throne, the Partagas black!

My black ears were burning, I knew my man pudding was repping me here.

It’s just the truth, the CAO Brazilia and Partagas are simply extraordinary. Strong, rich, luscious smokes. I’ve tried a lot of cigars and like the Isley Brothers say in Voyage to Atlantis. ‘ I always come back to you’ cao and partagas

That ‘eiroa’ review sounds like it was written by the flamers in cigar afficionado

I always pictured RAH as being white....not sure why.....huh

If you're not RAH, then you are certainly joking, no?

I smoked a LOT of barrel bottom cigars over the years....was a time when I tried nearly everything cbid offered when trying to find my footing. As I recall, Partagas Black wasn't too bad, particularly in the petits....and CAO was really only decent in long gone Extremes and whatever those gold coffins were...other than that? Within what seemed like a short time, Huber left, General acquired them and even Tim O bailed.....never saw any reason to revisit

Last time I had a Brazillia, I didn't care for it. I used to like them a long azz time ago, I think that was before they sold though... I don't remember for sure, I just know it was a long time ago.

You like strong cigars, you should try some LFDs.

I smoked part of a brazilia a couple of weeks ago... It's good for a cigar that's not very good... Constructed well, even burn... Tasted like a Fuente chateau, which to me always tasted like tobacco that had been aged inside of a balloon...

I had a La Flor Dominicana Ligero once because I saw Rush Limbaugh seemed to enjoy them,, thought it was pretty lackluster. Like they covered weak ass Dominican tobacco in a strong wrapper.

I will say I like a Joya De Nicaragua Antano almost as much as a CAO or partagas.. remember I said almost...

lol, if you say so...

You like the JDN Antano, smoke the Dark Corojo variant (aka the only cigar to wreck my palate for a day and a half).

For LFD, try the Double Ligero Oscuro... bonus points if you can put down the LFD Double Ligero Maduro Digger.

Sounds like all you care about is a nicotine buzz... these will do it for you.

Don't know if you got into any of Pepin's warez yet, but for an honorable mention, the Tatuaje Fausto will fit your nicotine junky needs just fine.

Other honorable mentions:

Padron 6000 Maduro
Oliva Serie V (Oliva makes quite a few strong cigars, Cain F comes to mind)

If at some point you want to splurge...

Opus X

The Cain F is great stuff. The "MB3 place" sometimes puts 24-boxes of the "Robusto" (Oliva calls it that, but at 5.7x50 it's closer to a Toro!) on sale for $60 which is most excellent pricing. Look for that sale and snag 1, 2, 3, whatever boxes for long-term aging. Future You won't be disappointed, I can tell you from experience in aging these for many years.

Just don't be a dumbass and pay full price, or anything near it.

Your wife plays Call of Duty?

That's pretty awesome dude.

Had a hard time getting mine to play Pac Man.

Edit:

She did like to play Guitar Hero back in the day... could never get her to play Gears or anything with me though.

She doesn't really cook... and Armenian food is kinda simplistic... lots of kabobs (no recipe needed), pilaf (how many different ways can you make buttery rice), and stale bread (Costco)...

probably lots of overlap from nearby cultures

They do one thing i can't remember the name of... it's essentially heavily seasoned, finely minced, raw beef on a thin dough...

Lebanese and others eat raw or cooked Kibbe, sort of a version of meatloaf
