Maybe...but probably not the best use of their time and talents....I don't think the Donald needs a lot of help

The only takeaway for me is reiteration of how the media AND Trump can completely blow up a news cycle with meaningless crap.

Trump says something stupid because its about him and he can't help himself, even though it means nothing in any big scheme of things....and the other side starts yelling, pointing and jumping up and down, saying "See!!! He says stupid things!" as it its a revelation or validation of everything negative they've said about him....sad state

To be fair.... It is a validation of many negative things said about him.

I mean.... He's really really bad at this presidenting thing.

So...another take away is that we should stop paying attention to the POTUS...the possessor of the biggest bully pulpit...

if so, then Trump will have marginalized something else (attach long list here)...the most powerful office in the world...

perhaps that isn't a bad idea .....at least for that segment of the population whose SOLE reason for every paying any attention is to find something to bitch about

That is the strategic end game of Trump's anti-media rhetoric...to silence his critics...

Quite possibly.....but while my tongue was in cheek, I do think that the coverage/reaction to anything Trump is pretty sad....I'm a pretty strong Trump critic, but my eyes roll and I get nauseous when I get my newspaper (WaPo) most days.

I mean... If he didn't say something dumb every day then maybe there wouldn't be a reason to criticize him daily?

It's like a child whining that their teacher marks their misspelled words in every assignment.... The teacher is just as tired of it... And wishes the damn kid would learn to spell correctly.

Trump has been going after WaPo since 2015, when he debuted his Muslim ban idea during the campaign and WaPo published an opposition piece...and it has gotten down and dirty ever since...

Historic people much smarter than me, including our founding fathers have said that a free press is an essential element for a free and democratic society...and that a free and democratic society must always be vigilant against despotic tendencies...

The Washington Redskins finally drop offensive name:

Dan Snyder, owner of the NFL Redskins, has announced that the team is
dropping "Washington" from the team name, and it will henceforth be simply known as, "The Redskins."

It was reported that he finds the word "Washington" imparts a negative image of poor leadership, mismanagement, corruption, cheating, lying, and graft, and is not a fitting role model for young fans of football.

Jesus... I just read Trump's dumb ass tweets that this is based off. What a miserable excuse for a human being he is....

He sounds like a whining child every time he puts his tubby little fingers to the Twitter.... Can't even acknowledge that Americans died due to failed infrastructure.... It becomes a democratic plot.... And then claims he raised billions for Puerto Rico....

This really is going to be the worst 6 years to come...
Until the next president... Because he's lowered the bar.

Trump said his response to Hurricane Maria's damage to Puerto Rico was "an incredible unsung success, the best job of any" of the Trump administration's responses to weather disasters...

we all saw him at his best in response to Maria in Puerto Rico...practicing how to pronounce it...throwing rolls of paper towels to people in the crowd...telling them to go out and clean up the little mess....those magical sheets were lifesavers...

so the death toll can't be right...

meanwhile, the Gov of Puerto Rico, a former Trump ally, stands behind the numbers, obtained from a study done by GWU which compared predicted deaths to actual deaths in a specific time period following Maria...

unknown if the statisticians at George Washington U are Dems...

Just curious Al, by stating "former ally" are you implying that Ricardo Rosselló at some point was a Trump supporter? Have not found any indications that Rosselló was ever a Trump supporter. FYI, Rosselló supported Clinton in 08 and Obama in 12.

Appears you may be confusing "former ally" with Rossellós praise for Trump's initial response to Hurricane Marie.

+1

And this is exactly what he wants. He's playing the media like a fiddle. It's really the only thing he's good at IMO. fog
