I just bought the above lighter and was passing it around to friends to light their cigars. By the fourth person the top was too hot to touch. Is this something others have noticed? Also, the adjustment wheel only works for the bottom of the adjustment because any higher it is a real torch. ANyone else have this experience?

I never had a bunch of guys using any of my Turrim double-jets in rapid succession, but in such a situation, heat buildup is very common in many designs of all-metal multiple-torch (2 or more) lighters. For example, try that with a Trezo, and look out. Ouch! I wouldn't worry about it much, just give it a rest here and there if it's being used by a group of guys.

As to the adjustment wheel and range, the range is adjustable with a small screwdriver and needle-nose pliers and simple instructions in an official Xikar YouTube video dedicated to the topic. Some of their models support this easy, under-5-minutes modification, and the Turrims (both single and double) do. Have a look for it on Xikar's YouTube channel.

No problem, happy to help! Yup, there's nothing wrong with your Turrim, it's just physics. Multiple jets make a lot of heat, and metal conducts heat well. Other designs are much more susceptible to the problem, like the 3-jet all-metal Xikar Trezo I mentioned, which is a GREAT lighter by the way, and highly recommended despite that, you just have to keep it in mind.

Here's that Xikar YouTube video. The lighters' flame adjuster wheel represents a subset of the lighter's full power range. Using the video's instructions, you can "move" the wheel's range window into any part of the lighter's full power range that you like. For example, you can make the wheel's range window run from "nothing" to "medium", or from "medium" to "high", or split the difference and go from "low-medium" to "medium-high", whatever suits your preferences:
