Good... now don't look until the game is over. If Price gets his first postseason win, it's a good sign. Anxious

Wrapped up first batch of red beans around 10pm. Didn't soak the beans beforehand, so it ended up taking 12 hours. While that was cooking, I had the second batch soaking in some chicken stock. Started up the second batch around 11pm, should be done tomorrow morning. Chopped up 20 ish habaneros from the garden. Usually I pick my nose or rub my eyes after chopping peppers. Made a point to not do that this time. Instead I itched my earhole. That's a new pain I'd rather not have again.

Wife's got bedroom door closed, guess that means couch again for me. She hates when I cook. Even moreso when I do it overnight. This batch is in the crock pot on low, so planning 12-16 hours of cook time even with the soaked beans.

Beer and cigar time out in the garage.

Make some. It's easy. Chop veggies and throw beans in broth at night, toss it all in the crock pot before work and eat for dinner when you get home.

Medium to large red onion, chopped
Pound of beans, soaked in 4 cups broth/stock
One ham hock or ham shank (if you like more meat in the beans, go with the shank, or skip it altogether)
Half to a pound of smoked sausage
Half a bunch of celery, chopped
Bell pepper or two, chopped
Habaneros decapped and pull seeds out
Season with salt, paprika, thyme, chili, cumin, cayenne or whatever you like

Dump everything into crock pot and cook till it's all mashable. Make some rice, scoop the beans on and enjoy.

Who's found good mustard?
Used to get a rough stone ground mustard at a small grocery outside Milwaukee many, many years ago. I think it was locally branded and I have no clue who made it. Never found anything comparable since.

I did have very good mustard at a couple pubs in Hong Kong and Singapore, but haven't found nearly the quality since. I like Kosciusko (brown and stone) OK, but doesn't blow me away by any means.

Picked up a jar of good mustard from some grocery store babe a couple years ago... I couldn't say no to her but the mustard was damn good... Found another jar online when it was gone.. I'm not sure if I still have any or not... Think

I've got a recipe for a honey mustard I make at home....it's pretty delicious to me,...great for dipping warm soft pretzels, and I like it on jalapeño poppers....Drool
I also like the Kosciusko, brown and the stone ground as a pretzel dip...it's good on a ham and Swiss sammies too

well, you aren't wrong...but that dude does the crazy work stuff, THEN mows the back 40, THEN reroofs the house, THEN jacks up campers with homemade hoists to pull the engines, and only after that does he eat lunch.

I'm worn out typing his day!

and you already knew I love ya bro.

Ha, I hear you. I can hold one down ok I guess. The wife gets tired of helping me up after I fall out of the damn thing though. I would say I can hold one down 40% of the time. The rest of the time I am inspecting the floor.

Good Morning all

46 with showers with a high of 53.

Wow, we had like 2-5 days of fall weather with temps in high 60's low 70's now it seems winter is here.

This ultimatum of sweltering heat or nut sack freezing needs to stop and whom ever decided to throw away Spring and Fall needs an arse kicking! Just sayin.
