Turned 40 and went on a diet, decided I wasn’t done yet.

On September,10th I weighed 255lbs, weighed in this morning and I now weigh 220lbs. Changed to clean eating per my wife’s recommendation which means lots of veggies, baked sweet potatoes, rice, squash, zuchinni, spaghetti squash, turkey and skinless chicken tenderloins/breasts (basically low carb no carb), riding my bike to and from work, riding home for lunch and then back. Also started doing meal prepping for my lunches. Not much beer, had 2 on my Birthday. Been doing HIT workouts and strength training in the evenings. Even drinking a hot green tea after dinner.

So there’s more to my reasons for doing this that I will share as I accomplish those goals. I couldn’t have done it without my wife’s guidance. She knew about meal prepping, clean eating and what workout videos to follow.

Ultimate goal is 215lbs.

Awesome!

I went to endless shrimp last night and gained 8.5 pounds over my morning weight.

Then woke up early today to my stomach gurgling and am only 4 pounds over yesterday's morning weight.

On a serious note, once you hit 215, you're probably going to keep going.

Thanks for all the replies. It’s been interesting and surprising at how fast the weight came off.

I’m not sure how much further I can go. I forgot to mention that I’m 6’3” tall.

I'm 6'1" been hovering right around 200 usually. I could probably get down to 190 with a little effort.

Damn 99... Way to go. Been trying to lose weight too, but haven't been nearly as dedicated as you on the food....

...as I order a full Irish breakfast at a bar...

Good for you...
I dropped 15-20 lbs and feel way better...
Was 235-230...now 213 in the a.m. after a shower
Mostly by smaller portions while eating and lots of water.
...nothing else
...I can't exercise due to intense pain in muscles and joints thanks the FBI-SSG MICROWAVING...

Your wife is impeding too much on your happiness. Drink more, smoke more, and listen to her less.

Lol she’s been a great help in this lol and is supporting me 100% on my reason for losing all this weight.

Once I get this end goal accomplished I will have a big cigar and a 6 pack of my favorite dark beer with it!!!

This weight loss hasn’t been all bad though I’ve discovered how dang good some small cigars are. Been enjoying petit Tat reservas and have a few more Tat Petit Cazadores Reservas. Cracker Crumbs are on my short list to try. Small size, big flavor and smoke in about 45m.

Great to hear... It's not always easy. A little extra motivation does help, I reckon.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I wouldn't weigh so much, but my brain is pretty dense...

Blink

And this... Beer

Actually, we just hired a new guy. Hopefully I can get back to a regular schedule and get back to my bicycle rides by the airport.
I'm up to 190 and oughta be closer to 180 or 175.

Congrats on the weight loss, keep up the good work.

Four years ago I weighed 210 pounds and was taking a couple of BP meds. I am 5'8'' and I set a goal of losing 50 pounds before I turned 65 which I will be next month. I weighed myself this morning and I met the goal and weigh 157 pounds. I feel much better and I no longer take any BP meds.

Well done on your weight loss zito!!!

I also feel much better, back in August before I started losing weight I several times thought to myself “damn I feel 40” after working out and doing strength training I feel maybe mid thirties again.

Feeling 40 would be nice... I'ma be 49 shortly. Keto works, but can you do it consistently?

As soon as you have too many carbs or sugars... your metabolism will revert. Beers got in the way of my keto diet. I lost weight, but had I quit the beer it would have been more.

I just count my calories. Basically, I put down about 600 to 800 calories for breakfast. If I eat a giant lunch or something, I'll just have a snack or 2 later... Or vice versa.

What gets me is the weekends where I say f it, I'm grubbing.

We have been doing clean eating. I’ve been aiming for 90/10 but I have done better than that I think. Just means that 90% of what I eat is clean, with 10% being processed.

Clean eating is if you can’t grow it or hunt it you don’t eat it.

Also have been doing meal prepping for my noon time lunches and making sheet pan meals for supper. I like the sheet pan meals because everything is all together, then bake it for 25 minutes at 425 and done.
