Okay, I almost never buy anything from this place anymore, but I just snagged a lot for a buddy at work. I figured $5.95 for shipping was excessive, but I knew it going into the bid, so no problemo, right?

Ships today and arrives SATURDAY? What in the actual f*** are you doing? Pony express? For that price it should be 2 days.

I get sh*t from overseas faster.

Welcome to "We gonna Phug ya for a few bucks" Just grab a seat over in that chair with the big hole cut in the bottom and we will get to you next week. If you did not bring your own lube we will ship you a pinky tip amount for cost of the lube plus $7.00 for shipping. All this added with your local out of state tax which only comes to a total of $18.30. What A DEAL! oh and did we mention the chair and the lube is well balanced!. fog

You must be a platinum member ... if I'd had an order shipped today via "Smart Post", it'd be Tuesday of NEXT WEEK before I got it ... if Pony Express were an available option, I'd choose it ... it'd have to be an improvement over smart post ...

I've NEVER known of a shipper who mandates the method of shipment when the consignee pays the shipping ... if I pay, I should have the option of the method of shipment ... if they pay, well ... it's their choice.

I'm still happy if I get my stuff in under 2 weeks.

I never look at the shipping cost.

8 days for shipping when I paid more than the USPS charges for 2 day shipping is straight bullsh*t.

What the f***, CBid?

What in the heck are you whining about?!
How do you think Z and his mommy are able to afford the PAMs they smoke over coffee in the morning??
Do you have any idea what La Princessa's monthly spiked heal budget is?

They're not making the margins on cigars and swag that management.wants, so that extra 5% - 8% they pocket while bending you over makes the Euro boys chuckle.

I think everyone should try to win at least one auction under this new authoritarian shipping program... Can't join a class action if you weren't affected...

Lets hammer this point all the way home. Ordered a box of Montecristo Double Edmundos on the 29th. I got them today from EUROPE.

5 days paying NO shipping... vs over a week paying $5.95... in the same country.

Well, like I said above, there's a couple of Euro Execs, smoking some well aged Boli RCs, laughing so hard at your whining, the cognac is coming out their noses.

Well, since text doesn't always come across clearly, I'm not sure why you thought it necessary to reiterate your joke (if it was a joke). If you interpret a legitimate complaint as 'whining', good for you.

I didn't ask for a refund. I'm not calling for a boycott.

I'm making a point. The point that CBid is overcharging for shipping. A point many people agree with.

No.
But you can WIN stuff.

Like going to the county fair and paying $5 to earn a chance for a 50 cent stuffed toy.

WINNING!

Many people agree that cbid over charges for shipping??
Seriuosly MACS, EVERYONE KNOWS cbid's shipping prices and policies are crap!

It's been a ripoff for several years now.

That's why I'm making a "joke" at your expense..............so sorry I offended you.........but it's old news, and the fact that you are so upset about it NOW.........well........I find humor in that.

And so does Euro management...

I'm not offended by you. Slightly amused, maybe.

Perhaps I'm so late to the party because I've just noticed, since I rarely buy anything here. I don't think the price is so much of an issue as the price coupled with the length of time for delivery. I think the price would be reasonable if it was 2 day shipping.

*shrug*

To each his own...

Heh.........you wanna REALLY get into it?
Contact cbid and ask for an explanation as to their shipping policies and pricing, like many of us did years ago.
The answers were.......................stunning?? Can't even really come with the right word.

Only a few cigars, like 3, that I'd consider buying here these days.......but I refuse.........because of the shipping fiasco.

My favorite cbid shipping quirk back in the day was 5- packs, of the same cigar, same vitola, packaging, etc.

When called a "5-pack" it shipped for 50 cents.
When called a "Sampler", it shipped for $1.00.

We complained enough so that I THINK they quit doing that, but I'm not sure.

My partner at work and I got promoted at the same time, went to the same jail, on the same team... and been fishing a ton ever since. He's started to get into cigars now (and I got him drinking good beer instead of bud light), so I gave him my old 150 count humi. Then I bid on a 6 pack of Java for him and some humi-care jars... that's the only reason I even noticed.

I've got him perusing the "Euro" sites already and he's a big fan of the QdO coronas, but they're friggin out of stock everywhere.

ah, yes...that's what we smoked on your boat.
I'll always remember that.
Thanks!
