Applause

Gotta watch it...
Amazing stuff...
Layers are only one atom thick...

Conducts electricity better than copper or silicone, stronger than diamonds, filters seawater to fresh water, makes wallpaper that lights up like a light bulb,
Used in new body BULLIET proof armor,
Makes phone batteries that charge in 15 minutes and can be recharged 3,500 times...on and on and on...

BUY GRAPHENE RESEARCH COMPANY AND GRAPHENE INDUSTRIAL STOCKS...THE NEXT MICROSOFT.

They've been trying figuring out what to do with it for almost 20 years :D

Problem is, it's hard to manufacture in bulk cheaply.

The stuff ain't cheap, that's why you really don't see it in the wild.

Disclaimer, I didn't watch the video... but I've been following news on it for years.

Did some work with graphene 3D printer filament.
Actually made the filament from specialty plastic compounds.

Can't say that it performed any better than carbon nanotube compounds, but it was cool learning about it.
End performance was based on electrical conductivity.

Some call it a real life 2 dimensional object.

And Mr. Jones, I think Silicone is an electrical insulator. Not sure why superior conductivity would be note worthy.

I know we've been throwing some jabs at each other, but I'm interested in what you made.

now I'm interested.

Kicking myself for not keeping stuff, but all we did was make test plaques so the customer (actually, they make the graphene so they're also the vendor) could test different blends.

Mostly graphene filled PLA filaments.

Our printer runs 3mm and they needed 1.75mm so we didn't get much to play with.

The carbon nanotube products we run are mostly in a fluoropolymer (PVDF) base resin, so we don't run them in our printer because printers are primitive by design and hang up areas can result in burning and hydrofluoric acid sucks. But I've seen the test results and they're quite similar.

They sell their graphene PLA filament through blackmagic3d .com

They extrude their own filament now, although we do run specialties now and then.

Sounds like fun stuff. Kind of want to get a 3d printer just to mess around with it.

I'm kind of a nerd so stuff like this interests me.

I'm not a nerd and this stuff interests me.
Herfing

PM me if you ever want to know more about it.
Or if you want to buy me a beer.
Either way.

That wasn't a pocket protector.

It was my lucky bullet.

One time a berserk minister attacked me and threw a bible at me.
If not for my lucky bullet in my breast pocket, that bible would have gone straight through my heart.
