Choosing what to smoke

Now that I have 60 0r 70 cigars in my humidor (buying frenzy over last few months -- addicted to bidding over last few months) I'm often faced with the dilemma of what to choose to smoke. I can't imagine what it's like for those of you with hundreds, or thousands, of cigars. I've been clearing my mind and just letting my subconscious grasp at something, and sometimes have a desire to try one thing or another, but I'm wondering how deliberate decisions are made? Just curious how you all deal with so much choice. Especially because cigars are not like cookies -- usually only smoke one at a time!

Thanks.

I've been known to smoke more than one at a time...

Comparing and contrasting can be helpful...

Or I was really schnockered...

I forget...

Sounds like you have trouble making decisions. Is it OK if we call you pontracks ?

Hahahaha! I was thinking the same thing but realize that once-upon-a-time, we were all nOObs and 60-70 seegars were, at that point in time, more than what we had smoked in our lifetime.

But back to OP....

There are a lot of circumstances that determine what I pull out to smoke. In no particular order:

- Is there a special reason / occasion?
- Time of day / night
- Smoking with others or by myself?
- Been itching to try a particular cigar?
- What will I be drinking?
- Empty or full stomach?
- How much ME time I have
- Weather

I'm sure you can come up with your own reasons so take this with a grain of salt.

What Palama said as well as where you're smoking. Also take one out you haven't had before or a different size, etc. unless you only buy smokes you've tried. In that case you're missing out. fog

I always look through my collection and think about what scent and flavor do I want with my glass of alcohol. I then decide based upon the drink. Today I am enjoying 6 ounces of an excellent 20 year port. Thus I am smoking an Añejo with it.

Yup, sometimes another factor. When the two Asians herfed with the two Rednecks (...with most of their teeth...) at Casa Fuente, out of respect, I pulled out an Anejo and Homer (...the other Asian...) bought a King T to smoke...not that we had to but it seemed like the right thing to do.

Tonight I picked out a 2018 8-5-8 Rosado to see how much difference another month of rest would do.
