It's not so much the buying....it's the carrying and not dropping them that creates all the stress...Anxious

More efficient extraction with coconut oil due to higher amount of saturated fats. Cooks 1:1 butter exchange in recipes.

Have you tried salt and water yet? Makes a great brine.

Lee Drummond made a roast turkey brined in maple syrup & whiskey.
3 cups of whiskey and 3 cups of syrup

May work better in a turkey bag. Don't get into the whiskey.

OR

Standard brine is 1 cup coarse kosher salt per gallon of water. adjust to your liking over the years.

My pork brine is 3 quarts of water, 3/4 cup kosher salt and 1 cup of molasses. I know you do not want to brine a turkey for more'n 8 hours, though... unless you reduce the salt.

was talking to abrignac earlier today about that very thing, as well as brining the turkey for way too long... a few years ago, tried brining a turkey -- for two days...the wimmens all thought the turkey turned out too salty...the beer drinkers ate it up...

Well, some good news and bad news tonight. After the new year I'll be transferring back to the jail close to home. Yay!

Bad news is... I'll stay on night shift for 6 more months. Ouch.

Captain sent me and the guy I'm trading places with an e-mail at 9:35pm. Somebody workin' late... or the 2 captains are drinking beers tonight and won't remember tomorrow...

We were supposed to go out for dinner, but someone bowed out due to the cold and other complications, so it will be a quiet turkey free relaxing Thanksgiving at home for us. Even the birds are tucked away somewhere this morning. I'll be venturing out to feed the neighbor's cats this evening and tomorrow and the weekend. Above freezing Saturday with late day rain and undoubtedly a smoke outside of some kind..

Made a jar this morning with some primo bud - no trimmings... Mixed the resulting oil with some grand Marnier, cooked off the alcohol, added dark chocolate cocoa powder, and poured into silicon molds (fish shaped of course)...

Froze them, tried one, realized I'd added no sweetener at all whatsoever (I still liked it), and so I rolled them in powdered sugar... Fantastic! Thanks for the tip...

Could've gone to thanksgiving dinner after all. We do it at the in laws 2 hours away, and dinner was at 4 so I toyed with the idea since I don't start till 7p. But I didn't want to risk traffic and we'd have to drive separately

Got a phone call at 445 that they were putting me on call. Probably won't get called in before 11p anyways. Told them if call could be exchanged for working another day I'm all about it.

When you strip before reshingling, is that for balance? Cuz I don't think most people can use theirs the way you use yours...

Celebrate Diversity by celebrating all colors.

Specifically celebrating a color over other colors pulls colors apart.

Plus, Friday has always got more love than every other day, minus Saturday.

So....

Happy Every Color, Everyday Day!
