Haha Spey.....apparently you’re not familiar with the HAARP satellite in NorCal, or van mounted lasers they use in remote areas that aren’t locked to the public.

Sorry guys, no one posted this yet, and I didn't want to wait two years to post the NY Post story...

https://www.politifact.com/california/statements/2018/nov/12/donald-trump/trumps-overly-simplistic-and-false-claim-californi/

and to make it more insulting, read who owns the forests.

TDS? Yeah, right. Disgraceful...no?

also, Mr. Jones is mistaken when he said the media named this fire the Camp Fire, blaming it on campers....

Wildfires are typically named by Cal Fire, usually with some relationship to the location/origin of the fire. In this case the fire started near Camp Creek Road...hence the "Camp Fire"...so far no cause has been identified for this most deadly wildfire in the State's history.

With the number of missing persons in the hundreds and the discovery of many bodies in burned out vehicles throughout the burned area...this has the look and feel of a major tragedy unfolding.

I read it, here's what it said in a nutshell... hippies got mad about chopping trees down to prevent fires because they would rather watch them burn.

That and Trump tweets too much stupid sh*t.

Not only that, technocrocrats have mismanaged game which EAT underbrush to lower the fuel loads in the forest. BTW these commie lawsuits are big business and don’t always even go to court. Sometimes they’re settled out of court on purpose by fellow travelers.

he has paid apologists already.

The feds own almost all of what he called land being mismanaged by the state before threatening to cut off "funds".

All he needed to do to be a decent human was what most of us do here do, appreciate the efforts of some very brave people and express the same sorrow for those lives lost and destroyed.

no more. but no less either.

no.
I think even mentioning the hippies is yet another thing akin to the eye rolling/tsk tsking used altogether too much to defend a man who continues to behave and lead poorly

If they were hippies...yeah...but most of the people who moved there were older poorer independent-minded people (think "don't tread on me" types) looking for a less costly haven from the discomfort of urban and suburban living in CA...

but the point is legitimate, that people are moving into places that put themselves at risk and their presence can contribute to the chance of a destructive and deadly fire happening...just providing power lines and other infrastructure to those areas add potential sparking sources...

Z, reread about HAARP. There are certainly advantageous military applications associated with it. It has nothing to do with lasers. It is a transmission system for high energy electo magnetic pulses(EMP), and temporary alteration of electo magnetic fields.

mild rebuking of the fact that he tweets is ignoring the damaging contents of the specific tweets.

Dumping anyone who says anything critical of such behavior into a big vat of Trump haters is also just a way to discredit critics, deny or minimize the legitimacy of the complaints, and basically deflect and defend what may be problems by turning it into a discussion of the speaker's motives instead of the issue.

be clear that I am not accusing you, just answering how I see this stuff as defending him.

So if you deem a rebuking as mild, then that person is a defender.

I honeymooned driving up the CA coast 25 years ago.
A series of wild fires seemed to sprout up soon after leaving each area.

I like how all the loonies are blaming Climate Change.

How stupid are these people?

I mean, even accepting that climate change is a contributing factor, how does that absolve those in charge of forestry?

Do they sit there with their collective thumbs up their pie holes and say "oh well, the Santa Anna's are more drying now. Nothing we can do."?

How pathetic.

How about doing what California did for decades?
Clear out proper fire breaks.
Conduct sufficient controlled burns.
Clear out deadwood.
Etc.

Or: Just blame Climate change.

Trump was right.
The level of incompetence is staggering.

if the mild rebuking is something like what happens here...eye rolling and tsk tsking about the behavior of tweeting while ignoring the content of the tweet... makes it seem like just impish behavior from a bad but adorable little tyke...then you are right.

Fires have been getting worse year after year. Much has been written about some root causes. Nothing changes.
More people are going to die next year from fires in CA. I'd put money on it..even if that's sorta morbid.
Interesting reading here, though it is very far from comprehensive and doesn't do due diligence on most claims and statements, but most of those statements 'seem sound'. I won't get near climate change aspects of any of the cause arguments...that's a bit dumb...unless....unless, there were asinine, risky, laws enacted solely in the name of climate change saving, that actually made things much worse.....if so, it's probably appropriate to add climate change stuff to the conversation, but then you have to expect it to drown out anything meaningful

nevermind....I was actually looking for some factual information about fires and trends out there...I completely missed the current 'conversation' ....largely between Trump and Moonbeam....didn't know that's what you guys were referencing.....what a couple fn morons...not u guys....the other two:

“There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor,” Trump tweeted after the Camp fire — the deadliest wildfire in modern state history — leveled much of the Sierra Nevada foothills town of Paradise.

“Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!” Trump declared.

The next day, Brown called the firestorms that have flared from Paradise to Malibu the “new abnormal” that threaten Californians’ way of life.

“Managing all the forests everywhere we can, does not stop climate change,” Brown said. “And those who deny that definitely are contributing to the tragedies that we are witnessing and will continue to witness.”

to be sure, most wildfires have human activities related causes...power lines, campfires, generators, smoking, machinery sparks...stuff that people have to be very careful about when there are hot, windy and dry conditions. Public education might help, but the number of knuckleheads...

utility companies can do a better job of maintaining their equipment, especially in areas susceptible to fires, a huge swath of the state...

But drought and hot, dry winds followed by periodic bursts of high rainfall are major contributors to the magnitude and reach of a fire, once it gets started.

That focus is almost always a huge mistake, IMO.
All those (and lightning) will provide a spark. They always will be around and possible. But NONE of them are causing the conditions that lead to massive, unstoppable fires in populated areas. Don't focus on the spark

The problem with what’s trending in these fires IS FUEL LOAD period. The atmospheric conditions are not abnormal over the last 500 years. The ROE of suppression on federal land needs fixed. Period. The clearing of fuel needs fixed period (make America WORK again). Period. The ecosystem in the forest needs maintained by people who aren’t morons so that the underbrush is grazed. Period. Ask kingofthecove about the fire near his home last year......it’s about access, it’s about control, and it’s about money.

I heard the fires were actually caused by us not having a wall.

Because someone could not get Mexico to pay for it.

So, yes - it’s Obama’s fault.

take a look at the size of the area in the state that is susceptible to wildfires...and then look at how much of that is federal land....

Good Lord!

that's gonna cost a lot of money!

maybe cost about a good chunk of building the wall...on-going...
