The first bundle of Puros Indios viejo was outstanding, an exquisite rich smoke with a perfect draw every time.
This second bundle I got sucks a fat one!! ram27bat Dry, overfilled with a crappy draw and tasteless. Maybe CI is storing them in a lousy humidor?? Plus of course they are wrapped in that cellophane garbage. Maybe if I take that crap off them and give them some time in my humidor they will get better,

MY COMMENT "TAMES IN COMPARISON" TO THE THOUSANDS OF HISTORICAL daily roughings he took on here..

I've never had a Rolando Reyes cigar that DIDN'T taste like moldy hay. In fact, his cigars had such a distinct and similar flavor that I was able to identify all 5 Reyes cigars in a 10 stick blind taste test.

Obviously some of you have the tastes of a billy goat and can’t appreciate the true cubanesque flavors of the highly rated Reyes cigars. Aficionados I think not!

I've never had a Puros Indios that was even worth giving away to someone I didn't like ... even the long-infamous Lone Wolfs were somewhat vaguely smokeable in their initial iteration, but Puros Indios never, ever has been ...

If you had an outstanding Puros Indios, I can assure you that it was mis-labeled ... someone must've taken a decent cigar and put Puros Indios bands on it, though why anyone would do so is beyond me ...

Hehe...somebody on CA was singing the praises of Reyes cigars, and I expressed my opinion. He issued a challenge: he would send me 10 unbanded cigars (5 Reyes and 5 non Reyes) and he bet that I wouldn't be able to tell which cigars were Reyes. I guessed all 5 correctly. Hahahahaha

In the interest of full disclosure, though, I did guess one cigar as a Reyes and it wasn't (it was a CAO). But I did correctly identify all the Reyes cigars.

I wen't and found that thread. It's gold. That guy was so cokcksure of himself and the Reyes cigars and then you just crushed his cigars.

"First few draws...hmmm...Reyes. Not too bad though, the wrapper seems to be taming the moldy hay and rotten milk flavor."

"Robusto with a medium brown wrapper with VERY pronounced veins. I mean I haven't seen vericose veins like this since I ran into Hillary Clinton at the beach. "

Classic.

UPDATE!:

I’m a little deeper into the bundle now and have had a few good ‘uns. I’m not ready to throw in the towel yet on Puros Indios. Especially at the bargain price point they are at.

Yeah, but the guy promised you 5 and 5 and sent 6 Reyes and 4 others - 3 of which were crap. The LGC was the only decent cigar he sent. Would have been 2 decent cigars if the DPG Blue wasn't all screwy or he got his notes wrong and it was in fact a 7th Reyes cigar.

If one's shtick is to compare Reyes to garbage like the CAO Black and say how great the Reyes is, they really need to reevaluate their cigar choices.

His picks were like a race to the bottom of the barrel.

Think
I'm wrapping my head around this:
How crappy must those Reyes cigars be, for BornDead to be able to pick them out.........from OTHER CRAPPY cigars??!!
