Nice to be not at work.

Sitting in the garage trying my first Norteño. I think I'll like em a lot more after a year or two. But I like it. Wouldn't buy full price, got these for $30/box

We start the day with a broken water heater.

Don't really need hot water in Sconnie in December.

Toughen up, family!

You know....come to think about it....the same guy has had other 'strange experiences'....like when he changed the battery in his atomic clock and all the remote controlled ceiling fans in the house wouldn't work right....ended up having to get rid of the damned clock....not sure why a country couple like he and his wife cared about exact time anyway...I think maybe the clock had been a gift

Grocery shopping done, and that's all I had planned for the day.

Might squeeze in a nap later.

@marty's in Glendora, waiting on Al.... We'll see what he says, but this is the nicest shop I've ever been to...

Marty's is a top notch cigar lounge...the entire 25' x 35' (approx) front room is paneled in medium dark wood, and is reminiscent of a hunting lodge sitting room...a huge assortment of cigars is displayed on open shelves on three of the walls surrounding the sitting area in the middle, with a large screen TV sharing one of the walls. The entire room is a humidor with smoke eating exhaust fans and humidifiers positioned around the room. Great way to relax, enjoy a cigar or two or three, chat with friends and total strangers alike and watch the football game.

was great to see Joel again...can't wait to do the Morro Bay FishnHerf in 2019 with him and our fishing buds. Wife and daughter both gave two thumbs up for your home-made cheesecake

I heard you have chosen to live in misery...or was it Missouri?
Is there a difference?

Not at the salary I'm accepting. I think I'm taking a 70% pay cut.

Only upside is I get some company ownership, so if we make this happen it can have an upside.

Only real upside to the location is I learned there is some cave diving in old mines in Missouri. I might be able to get my certification there, when previously I thought I'd have to travel to Florida or Mexico.

I'm pretty damn excited for a couple of my coworkers today!! Our test results for corporal and sergeant came out and the 2 guys we really pushed for did awesome. Likely will be promoted in the next year.

No. I was promoted to Sergeant in February. I need 2 years as a sergeant to test for lieutenant. These are just good dudes that I would welcome as my peers.

However... I just got approved to transfer back to the facility close to home. 9 miles. With 5 years left to go, it is more important for me to stay there than to promote. If I promote again, they'll just move me back to a facility 45-50 miles away.

Hope the transfer goes well! Nothing beats well-reasoned lifestyle decision.
