Curious what the word is. getting antsy waiting on some things ordered over BF.

I have an Allen fly rod and use thier beads/hooks for tying with a fair amount of satisfaction

Am kinda of enjoying the huge number of independant companies popping up that appear to be similar to industry giants.

"I purchased 4 of these reels based on reviews from other customers. For the money, i don't think you can expect more. One of the foam handles was off when i opened the box, turned it back on and tightened the nut. I just don't see how this nut is not going to come undone while fishing. If it comes undone and lands in the water you`re done, cant use the reel anymore. I would have expected the reel to be alot smoother specially considering it has 10 BB`s!!!!! Its not. The only other issue i have with the reel is that it does not have sealed bearings, so, as soon as it gets water into the bearings (unless they are stainless which they are not) the bearings are going to rust. Do not wade fish with these reels, you`ll only get to use them once if they get water into/onto them." - amazon review

zero personal experience with them.....the bass fishing community seems to feel that their reels are not close to competitive quality-wise for their price segment

On the other hand, Kastking, which apparently may share some manufacturing lineage have come to a fairly respectable position of the lower price sections of the market based on a combination of quality AND service relative to their MSRP

All hearsay - I have not used Kastking reels, either

i picked up 3 spinning reels from them, the karve, reaver and banshee.

at 16 and 35, not much to complain about as they are in the you get what you pay for category. the banshee at 50 will be much more heavily critiqued at 50. i dont usually drop much for high end equipment as i never had performance issues with what i have now. my "best" reel now is a cableas pro guide on a heavy rod i dont use oftern and that was 35 bucks

got a kastking baitcaster as well from amazon. im not a proficient baitcaster, so not spending money on something i am trying to get better with, but the 3 way adjustment system made me interested enough to bite.

I use a Shimano Calcutta 400 mostly (salmon and steelhead) , I use an old 2 BB Abu Garcia spinning reel for trout.

So....you ordered them and THEN asked if they suck? Good luck.
BTW, was does it mean when a week-old order is 'pending'? Did you order them from CI?

Yes, saw a good prices, and would have been willing to deal with a return.

the kast king seems nice, spooled it up and will be a eager to try it.

i have no idea as it is still pending...... awaiting fulfillment actually. starting to get a bit annoyed now.

I have about 7 freshwater reels. Shimano, Abu Garcia, Daiwa... I don't like to skimp on fishing gear. If you hook into a trophy fish and lose it because your gear sucks... you'll wish you had spent the extra $$.

The difference between the crap stuff and decent stuff isn't all that much. It's when you jump to the high end stuff you'll be spending $$.
