Likely true... until that video came out. Shades of the Ray Rice incident. It was a suspension until the video was released and the outrage meter got pegged.

Saw clips of the video on three different news reports. Couldn't make out much. Saw some apparent shoving. Not civil but it wasn't clear to me that I need to get as outraged as the reporters all said I should be. I didn't see any limp bodies being dragged away

I think the shoving was pretty bad dsteiger, two people went flying across the hallway and the girl looked to catch her face on the corner of an entrance. He also kicked her when she was laying there, although it was not a full strength kick from the looks of the video it was intentional.

Supposedly Hunt lied to the Chiefs when he was questioned about this a few months ago or who knows what the outcome would have been. I side with the Chiefs here, but a part of me thinks they should have done more investigating instead of taking Hunt's word for what happened. There is no doubt someone will pick Hunt up again and will probably be several teams wanting him but at some point the NFL needs to say no more second chances, go find a 9-5 and see how you like being treated as normal person.

Wait a minute.it was Hunt that got fired? I thought she losther job. This is insane.

Watch and listen to social media. Has America not taught you people anything? Heed the 21st century rules. I don't have it all down yet myself, but I think I have the hierarchy down- at least the basics. In ascending or (least to most most awful).

-Jaywalking
-Shouting
-Pushing
-Shoving
-Slapping
-Punching
-Stabbing (non lethal)
-Shooting (non lethal)
-Rape
-Murder
-Not showing enough outrage for any time anything ever happens that adversely affects "women & children".
-Failing to admit guilt for being a white, straight, male.
-Mass slaughter
-War crimes
-Using the N Word.

When will she be relegated to a leper colony, crucified, and ritualistically tortured?

If I'm wrong, please coach me up. I just want to learn the rules of the game.

Ok...so just watched the whole video on full screen. The news clips were all heavily edited. I see a pizzed guy, somewhat out of control. While being 'corralled', he pushes the guys holding him back and knocks a woman down....twice. I didn't see an assault that gets me too outraged. The 'kick' was bad, but not something that would hurt or even leave a bruise. Not excusing his actions in any shape manner or form.....but not nightly-news-worthy, imo...nor worth getting kicked off the team...at least not until it became a PR nightmare...warranted or not. Curious that Fox News is leading the outrage parade......I'm certain that has nothing to do with Trump's war on the NFL

I would agree that this is not the worst case of DV we have been made aware of, but imagine what he does if those people weren't there to hold him back while he was going crazy. No man should ever act like that and especially not towards a woman. Have to be proactive in these situations instead of reactive or people's safety is at risk. At what point does this behavior have to be considered not bad until it is too late.

I do think that Hunt lying to the Chiefs about the incident plays a major role in his release. I imagine if he was honest they would of been way ahead of the bad PR and able to manage it better.

This is pretty black and white to me. I was raised that you don't raise a hand to a woman (let alone a 19 year old girl) unless you are fighting for your life. Period. The Chiefs are sending a very strong message here by releasing one of their best players in what could be a Superbowl season. Good on them. This kid should be taken out back and stomped.

I've witnessed young male college athletes physically and verbally abusing young women. Most only got slaps on the wrists while some of the girls stayed in abusive relationships or left school. The bigger the star, the lighter the slap. Never charged with a crime or prosecuted. It seemed as if athletes believed that was normal.

That was around OJ's time...

I am glad that we are evolving away from that "norm"

In our new society, men and women are equal.

You are magnifying the Ashe Kicking Glass Ceiling.

Ashe kicking for everyone equally.

Now, apologize for being a Sexist.

Equality reigns. Men and women are equal. The rights, roles and responsibilities are shared. Race, gender, sexual preference, religion shouldn't play a role.

If not, you are opening up the world to women to punch a man anywhere, any time, for any reason, without consequence.

Is that the world you are advocating?

Plus, she used the "N Word". Which in our society is nearly the largest crime possible. Certainly worse than any physical beating anybody could ever receive. Right?

Hunt is the bigger victim. She needs to be fired from her job and removed from our society.

Its in the article. Yep she used the "N" word for sure. See homeboy was wanting to hook her up with his bro crush. That's when she said "NO" He got offended cause she said the N word "No" Then, he gots pissed, laid her down and put boot to ass. Of course this is forgetting the right hook she laid on him. I mean its obvious shes a racist.Sarcasm

I am sorry, but even if she did use the "N" word (which I have not heard yet but could have missed it somewhere) that does not give someone the right to do physical harm to a person. The "N" word might be a disgusting word that is used to hurt people at their very core but it is still just a word. I don't think any words speak louder than actions and no words deserve physical altercations to happen, at least that is the way I though mature adults handle themselves. I don't recall reading about Martin Luther King attacking every person that called him the "N" word.

You make total sense. It's the hyperbolic echo chamber of political correctness which is flooding over any common sense. Witch hunts for people to lose their jobs because they have used "n word" in the past, with offended people asking for like war-like reparations for their pain.

If anything, the word should be used by everyone, everyday- it would rob the power from the word, everyone would get bored with it, it would evaporate, and we could move on with our lives.

Interview with Hunt about the incident.

He seems contrite, but when you stand to lose millions that would be logical. He claims he is not that type of person, yet his actions showed he is that type of person. He avoids being fully forthcoming.

I'm torn on this one. I've made mistakes in my life, too. Done stuff I was embarrassed for doing, and wish I could undo.

Do we give the kid a second chance? I don't know.

Let me pose another question...

If he got into this altercation with another man, would we even be discussing this? Would the Chiefs have cut him?

Why do we give this more credence because a woman was involved? Isn't that sexist? Aren't we supposed to treat women equally? Isn't that what women want us to do? Treat them equally?

I think the Chiefs and the NFL acted in a sexist manner. I hope the 49ers sign him.

I don't know the law well enough to know if he did something criminal. Obviously he did something wrong. MACS, Anthony, do you think he did something criminal? This does not seem similar to what Ray Rice did. Knocking a woman out and dragging her by the hair seems much worse. Does he deserve suspension by the NFL, yes. Should his NFL career be over, no.

What if it was? My sisters would have given that SOB all he could handle. All 4 of them. My sisters, wife, or daughter wouldn't have been whoring themselves out to athletes. So I don't think that analogy applies.

My point remains valid, even though I would be inclined to dispense vigilante justice if the women were close to me.

Women created the environment we're in, yet they still want to be treated "like women" when it suits them? I'm going to cry "foul" on this. They want equal pay, equal treatment, equal in every way, right?

I say be careful what you wish for. Are you physically and emotionally inferior to men? Then own it and quit trying to convince the world you're the same. You're not.

Spoke to my wife about this, just now. Her reply: "You don't plant mango seeds and expect to get tomatoes."

I believe she meant that for both parties involved.
