+1

Makes you wonder if the Rams are truly a contender, not a pretender. Think

The very same. I'm hopeful that they will continue to improve.

Rams offense sputters when a good defensive front can control the line and stop the run game, and pass rush without blitzing. Bears did a great job in both areas, forcing Goff into rushed throws and stopping Gurley...

hope that their starting O line stays healthy...two of the starters got dinged up in the game...

they can make adjustments when they play strong D teams like the Bears... help their offensive line when facing a superior D line, change blocking assignments/angles...maybe move Goff back and do more run pass options and counters... still like their chances...

Saints recovered after the Cowboys shut them down...Rams will too...and the fact that the Ram defense is showing up is a good sign for the playoffs....

Conversely, I have no hope for the Cards any time soon.

there's at least 3 pro-bowl caliber players in that front 7: Mack, Floyd, Goldman and possibly Hicks

I was talking about the OL Al.

Hicks is actually probably the MVP on defense IMO. I know Mack has crazy stats and gets the press and he absolutely deserves it, but Hicks has been doing what he’s doing even before Mack arrived and he reeks havock on the run and pass.

ohhh...then that's bad news for the Rams...their D contained a weakened Chi O...but they could get a re-match in the Coliseum during the play-offs...that would be interesting...

I don't really know that much about the Bears D, but during the Ram game, Mack, Floyd and Goldman were all over the place, making big plays...Hicks was solid, reminding me of Merlin Olsen when the Rams had Deacon Jones, Rosey Grier and Lamar Lundy who made the big flashy plays and had tremendous speed, while Olsen anchored the line, contained the run and clogged the middle, forcing the plays out wide...apples to oranges though, since the Bears play a 3-4 with extremely mobile and talented linebackers while the early Rams used a four man front...
