I think maybe the white chickens Maybe had claim on a lot of the yard and used to maybe throw their weight around until the brown chickens realized they outnumbered the white chickens... Then we got Haiti 2.0 up in dans backyard and now there's only one white chicken... That's what I think...

Late dinner, green egg boston butt, cold slaw, potato salad and chow chow.

Needless to say, one of yesterdays Christmas gifts did not make it to the intended recipient.

Oh well, one more butt to smoke next week.

Silkie chickens are the only ones with black skin tho - just white feathers. The brown chickens got pink skin.

Good morning, all.
Sitting here in the LabCorp waiting room. My wife has a 9:30 appointment to have blood work drawn.
We were told they are 45 minutes behind.
Ya think they would put more than one phlebotomist on duty when they are scheduled so heavily.

Are black chickens the ones that the Chinese herbalists think cure cancer? I seem to remember the woman cooking some special black chicken for her dog years ago....

....the dog died... So it doesn't work, FYI.

Hah... It is... Just looked it up.

The silkie chicken can warm the body and strengthen the immune system. Also supposed to help women be fertile, and coincidentally want to get it on.

Well... Didn't help the dog with any of that....

But... Danm... Just to be careful you shouldn't let your wife anywhere near them.

Baking season is upon us. Made 2 batches of chocolate chip cookies and mini cherry cheesecakes last night. Shockingly, I didn't eat either. Tonight, I will do peanut butter cookies along with thumbprint cookies.

We started rehabbing a foreclosure today. Found a huge box filled with toddler and adolescent toys. One of the ladies who cleans houses for me filled 4 contractor trash bags with the toys. We just dropped them off at the battered women and children’s shelter. It was a most humbling experience. There is much gratification to what a project as it unfolds. That pales in comparison to the joy I experienced watching those children pick things out.

I can't believe when you heard the news that you didn't figure out a way to transplant the axle of an abandoned Fiat you saw in the local quarry onto the camper and hit the road in time to draw the blood from the wife of that great BOTL, jespear.

She's right, mrs. danm that is, you are lazy.

Very disappointed.

if I find out that you chose to drink a beer and take a nap while mrs jespear was forced to read old issues of People magazine, I swear I'll come out there and steal a chicken.

Nestle? You working with the tollhouse recipe? If you ever feel like trying something out, I've got a recipe that my wife and I have polished over the years... It makes a taller, softer cookie... But I recommend dark chocolate Guittard chips...

Baby girl probably could've come home today, but they wanted to watch her while she slept and grandma fed her ice cream while the wife and I were getting coffee, so nap time never happened... But she's unhooked from everything, running around with brother, basically completely healed... Probably come home tomorrow morning... Thanks again for all the thoughts, prayers, and love...

Three consecutive weeks in Macon, GA complete. I’m worn out. Haven’t had a cigar since Thanksgiving weekend.

I should keep my mouth shut, however. Danm has worked 3x the hours and built 3 houses, fixed 27 cars and resuscitated multiple chickens. Forever in awe of the things he does. I’m lucky to be able to adequately cut my fingernails.

One can do much worse than donating to a battered women's/children's home.
