None of this matters anyway, because only Congress can appropriate funds for this type of thing.

Maybe the group can buy some of the private border land with the money and donate it to the government to help avoid some nasty eminent domain fights...or donate it to the private landowners to put their own wall up...

at a little over $17 Million, the campaign is slowing...averaging $2.8 million/day compared to the $4-5 Million raised the first two to three days...

would be a win win...aesthetically pleasing barrier for the US and a public works/full employment project for Mexico, since we'll pay them to plant and keep the hedges trimmed...

new Mexican President campaign slogan: "Creceremos algunos setos y los Estados Unidos pagarán"

(we'll plant some hedges and the US will pay)

I think we are an example to our government of how bipartisan cooperation is supposed to work.

19MM now.
Only went up 2MM over the past week...

I'm starting to suspect it won't even hit 24MM at the end of the month.

I'd like to thank you publicly for correctly using MM and not M for million.

Call me old fashioned, but it's a significant difference (factor of 1,000 if we're splitting hairs) and it's not unreasonable to ask society for consistency on this one.

...as frank predicted a week ago...RIP

The vet who set this up just announced that he was shutting this down after four weeks and raising $20 million...said he will refund all the money raised. He did tell donors that instead of a refund, they could donate their contributions to a new 501c non-profit corporation he set up, We Build the Wall, inc. The company will build the wall...faster and cheaper than the feds...

all this amid reports that Kolfage has been a scam artist who bilked people in a previous GoFundMe campaign for wounded vets but pocketed the money instead, and a conspiracy theorist on social media...

bait and switch by a dishonorable vet?

funny how some folks will applaud and send money to do this, but laugh at a fund-raising charitable organization for a fresh water campaign in Africa...

Sketchier than that Delta.
It looks like he changed the parameters of the GoFundMe to "I'm going to create my own company that will use the money everyone donated to build a wall cheaper than the government could have".

Since he changed the GoFundMe goal, GoFundMe is sending all the money back unless people specifically contact them and say they want to invest in the new venture.

Sounds like he tried crowdfunding his own construction company start-up capital and got shut down.
