Yes, both “old” and “new”. Felt the new banded Robusto was very close to the old one. Lots of chocolate and full strength fo’ sure. If you enjoy cigars with Maduro wrappers, this one could be right up your alley.

Btw, are you in / from Hawaii?

I like them. Another maduro currently in my rotation is Perdomo Barrel Aged.

Nobody buys them any more - they are always "sold out".

Here's your Christmas Camacho story...
When Davidoff acquired Camacho from the Eiora family in 2009??, initially they sort of left things as is.
Then, a few years later, a rumor started that the entire Camacho portfolio was going to get a "makeover" from Davidoff brass. Suddenly, Camacho cigars were getting blown out at retailers everywhere, and the other place in particular, was unloading the Triple Maduro, which, thanks to a tip from DP Newell, I stocked up on............heavily.......at very good prices...............this lasted for a few short months, and they were gone forever (the double silver band Triple Maduros)

As the new "brash", biker themed Camacho rollout started, complete with fluorescent bands and the like, there was a bit of a backlash from old time Camacho fans, who were asking lots of questions.
Davidoff management released a statement, listing which lines were to be discontinued, and which were to be reblended, etc. In that statement, they announced that the Triple Camacho and the Connecticut were the ONLY Camacho cigars that would remain unchanged.

Years ago I went out and bought a fiver of the new ones, and wrote this short review here in November, 2014.

Resting for 7 months at 66/67......figured it's time to try this release.

Nice wrapper, tight seams, one barely visible vein.
Canon feels heavy, and is tightly packed...........too tightly I'm thinking.
V-cut = draw too tight.
2nd V-cut perpendicular to first.....draw a bit looser.....but still tight.

(Forgot to sniff it, or check for double/vs triple cap)

Toasted up well, but draw was tight.
Initial flavors are very very similar to the original Camacho Triple Maduro, heavy, thick, oily maduro flavor, and I like that.

No real transitions of any kind that I noticed, but that dang tight draw probably didn't help that.
Burn was good........very slow as you might expect.
Smoke output somewhat less than I'd expect.......again a factor of the draw issue.
At about 1/3 of the way in, I finally gave in and grabbed my poker.......it helped a little.
Finally, during the last 1/3, the cigar opened up, and this was the best part.

The original triple maddie is one of my favorites, and I stocked up (as many did) when word got out that things were going to change at Camacho.
This cigar tastes good enough to fill the void when I ultimately run out of the OR.
I just hope they're all not as tight as this one was.

I don't remember much about the rest of that fiver, and never purchased any more, but that's probably because I still have a box of so of the ORs.
