I really don't like to bad mouth cigars or cigar brands....I think Drew Estates are a cool and ground breaking company....
I loved (and still do , if they still make them) La Vieja Habanas in Corojo and Connecticut best...maduros too if that is all I could win...
I know they are-were? "sandwich style" cigars with cuttings from all of drew estates blends...
I have many fond memories of walks through country club hills in camp hill while smoking a corojo chateaux or a Gordo?
With a heavy snowfall on a dark crisp night...sometimes with my old collie...
They were great cigars...
So I win a bundle of 25 Sun Grown Gordo
Factory smokes for $28-32?
I used to get the LVH'S FOR $18-28
FROM 2006 TO 2012....PROLLY WON ABOUT 20-30 BOXES OF LVH ON HERE...
NEVER HAD ONE FREAKIN BAD ONE...IN OVER
500-750? OF THEM...
SO I GET THESE FACTORY SMOKES AND NOTHING BUT TROUBLE...THEY CRACK ON THE END WHEN YOU PUNCH THE SMALL HOLE WITH A CIGAR PUNCH....THEY START TO "BLOW UP" AND OPEN ON THE LIT END after lighting ...THEY CRACK half way AND HAVE BARELY HAVE ANY DRAW...I'VE Had 13? Out of the same bundle...2 of them were "ok" ...like a 5 out of 10...2 were so friggin' harsh after 1/3 I had to toss them...3-4 turned into canoes and were bad... 5-6 just cracked and disenigrated...
I had way high hopes because these are long filler whole leaf cigars...
Not sandwich cuttings like the LVH...
SO IT IS ONLY "ONE BUNDLE" BUT the 2 out of 13 is not acceptable...
Like I said...I love LVH...
I WILL BUY MORE OF THOSE ( IF STILL MADE?)
FROM NOW ON...
DREW ESTATES is still a good company...
I may try a maduro bundle in about 6 months??? Hope they are better.
