So.... funny this should come up today of all days.

For the wedding, the woman had gotten these fancy fortune cookies for everyone. Just silly little things, the fortune inside says the wedding date, the cookies are pastel colored, iced and have sparkles on them... and they're all individually wrapped in these fancy boxes. They were just supposed to be a fun little thing to have at all the place settings.
Well... they come from a company in SF. And take up enough space that we didn't want to carry them . And they were fragile enough we didn't want to check them. So the woman mailed them to the hotel in mexico where we were having the wedding. She mailed them 2 or 3 weeks before the wedding.

Of course, you can guess, they didn't make it to the wedding. We weren't too bothered, as it was just fortune cookies. But a little miffed that they couldn't get there.

Well. They arrived here in SF today. In a very beat up box. 60 stale fortune cookies. Amazingly, they appear unbroken. But they are not delicious any longer.

Interesting.
I'm adding a trailer hitch to the car as a "backup" in case we can't fit the woman's crap in the moving boxes, so I can just add a small trailer. I suppose it could pull a small boat if necessary.

A line and $150 doesn't sound too bad especially picking your own strain.

When I was buying $200 for a half of "good stuff" with no other information available was a good deal. Plus you had the risk of getting robbed and or killed every time.

It's been 12 years, maybe things have changed. Doubt much has changed as an 18 year old girl was just killed in a weed robbery in my town a couple weeks ago.

I've had the itch to buy a new gun for a couple months now. Would've scratched it yesterday as a Hi Power came up for sale semi locally at a steal of a price but I was a few minutes too late in messaging the seller.

Yesterday when I was down at my parents house I rang all my old steel targets that I was forced to relocate after the county increased their shooting distance from homes last year.

Today I emptied out the gun safe and detail stripped and cleaned everything.

Usually one or the other will scratch the itch but I just can't shake it. I really want to rebuy all the collectible/classic guns I sold off to buy our house. I had some real gems that I can't afford to buy now, and wish I'd not sold but things had to be done.

Truth.

Cant wait to hear vic's take on the misery skeeters. Still think Minnesota is worse though, based on one trip north. MO is pretty bad, at least the places I been.

Dealt with backwoods Wisconsin mosquitoes... They are horrible things.

Had like 70bites on either leg after one weekend.

Been in Minnesota in the Summers when I was young. Disliked that as well but it didn't seem as bad.

Now we're hopefully flying tomorrow.

We'll see what happens if we don't make it out. I vote for just buying a place site unseen.

But I'll likely be outvoted and we'll have to schedule next weekend. Running out of time before the move.

Northern Minnesota has the worst. The average skeeter up there are hungry and the size of hummingbirds.

Wolves v. Leicester and coffee. Breakfast wife wife and airing up tires in to cool, humidless Wisconsin morning on the agenda next, followed by hiding behind a char hoping for Arsenal can beat Chelsea @ 11:30. Nap, then work after that. Full day.

The oncoming storm has now lessened in snow and increased in rain and freezing rain. Predicted temps for Monday and Tuesday have also risen, so the wind chill may only get to -20. Odds are we won't get out on the road until Friday. I just hope the power doesn't go out for days. I hate these storms where you don't know if you should shovel now or wait till it's over.

Hunker down midwesterners. Shorts weather here.

I thinking Missou is getting two new people, one of which has common sense. But it should be a fun saga.

I hate a 30 degree swing in temps in one day. I can handle anything nature throws at me (hot / cold / biblical flood) as long as it picks something and goes with it. Angry

We got about 2-3" so far but it's really windy. I'll wait to shovel the drive otherwise it'll be blown right back.

Loading up the car to drive north, where it's supposed to be worse....

Hopefully the snow keeps some people away from the RV show. I hate crowds.

At the local hospital for the mentally unstable, a nurse goes into Bob's room to find him sitting up in bed with his arms outstretched, moving them like he's driving a car.
She asks, "Bob, what are you doing" ?
"I'm driving to Chicago", he replies.
"Oh . . . okay", she says, and leaves the room.
The next day, she goes into Bob's room and finds him sitting up in bed doing the same thing.
She asks him, "How are you doing, Bob"?
"Just fine. I'm pulling into Chicago right now."
She just smiles and leaves.
She then goes into Bill's room, across the hall and finds him sitting up in bed masterbating.
"BILL ! WHAT are you doing ?" she bellows.
Bill just chuckles and says, "I'm screwing Bob's wife while he's in Chicago !"
