It's been a week of full moons at work.... I can't remember a time we've had this many bat chit crazy patients in my unit. And once we get rid of one, another fills the void. It's exhausting trying to deal with these "people". None are terribly ill, but need to be in the ICU because they're too much to handle anywhere else.

Snowed a lot in a short time. Roads were awful on the drive home. Took nearly an hour to get home and then when I was almost there, sheriff had the road blocked off again for another wreck.

I pulled up and told him where I lived, he said the fire truck is probably right in front of my driveway but I could pull up and park and start shoveling the drive if I wanted. Asked if it was the same tree everybody hits, "Yup," Damn tree is 10-15 feet off the roadway and past a shallow ditch. Everybody hits it. Without it there though, cars would probably flip as there's a very steep and deep ravine just beyond that goes down a good 20 feet to the swamp. There's been a few that missed the tree. Takes a few hours and usually two tow trucks to get em out.

Dreading going to work tonight. I'm so sick and tired of these crazies.

Poorly ram...

We're in a backup position on a house, waiting to hear if their lending falls through.

Then theres another one which was technically off the market, but the woman had liked it when it was listed 6mo ago, so we had the realtor hunt down the guy listing it and set up a video conference call so he could show us the inside. We may actually buy that one without ever setting foot in it if we don't get the other.

Yes... and it seems to be a revolving door of crazies, dopers, and d-bags here in CA.

DONE DONE DONE

That was one of the worst work weeks I've had in a long long time. Not for physically sick patients, I can deal with that. But the crazies and the druggies and the jackholes they just never stopped. I can handle non stop patients clinging to the last thread of life, but not the load that we had the past 6 days.

Also, it's cold AF and getting colder. Boy's school cancelled Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wed, and they said they anticipate being closed Thursday as well unless things change. It's been right around zero degrees for several days already,. Except yesterday. Yesterday was "warm" high 20's low 30's was shoveling snow in a sweatshirt and sweating.

We're supposed to see windchills of -50°F on Weds. After I nap I have to go out back to the chicken coop and shovel snow against it to try to insulate or they're gonna die.

Stuffed the crock pot with a batch of beans for dinner.

While at the grocery store I remembered I still had a coupon for a free turkey in the truck leftover from Christmas, so I went back and got it.

Not sure what to do with a 12lb turkey. Spose I'll throw it in the smoker and just pull/shred the meat like I do with a chicken but dunno if my electric smoker can do a turkey very well. Maybe spatchcock and grill it would be better. Not grilling weather anytime soon though.

Couple little boots, small sweater, sunglasses and a beanie.... Just like that, BAM, you're in the carpool lane...

We got tule fog here... Gets down to literally zero visibility a few times per year... Pops was third or fourth in a hundred car pile up a few years back because of it...

here in town it's clear but the country land that surrounds us is socked in... So the buses can't run and the farmers kids can't get no edumacation... So school starts a couple hours late... Unless the fog never lifts, which does happen one or two days every couple years...

Our Costco sells little glass bottles of chocolate milk from a dairy in the same town... The chocolate and milk never separate... I don't know how they do it... And It tastes like chocolate ice cream... It's amazing... Possibly even life changing... I'm not sure yet....

Korean burritos on the other hand... Not too likely.

Although of all the damn things, Columbia has a sushi-rito place. I hate the damn concept.

Did you make it? I'm toying with the idea of a "bone-in" chili using quick seared pork ribs... I Just don't know enough about chili making to know if it'll work... Seems like it should...
